Another silly question.... Since I will be building a separate box for my Dayton 240W amp, does it need to be ventilated since the cooling fins on the amp are on the OUTSIDE? If yes, how much vent area should I design in?

I don't think it needs to be vented. But since your building it anyway I'd pop 3 or 4 1" holes in the enclosure. Less heat is always better.
