Just a quick poll to see how extensively people are using the built-in DSP functions in their Crown XTi amps. I've got an XTi-4000 and just picked up an XTi-2000 as well, but I've never played with the built-in DSP because I also have a DCX and a couple of Rane ME-30B EQ's. Trying to decide if my DCX is redundant.

I don't have a digital xover, so for HP and adjusting the xover point I like it. But I have a separate limiter for better control than the 3db steps the xti offers.

I use everything but the delay in my XTi's. Plus, I have a DEQ/DCX combo to use.

If you already have the DCX/DEQ, I would keep those around. The DSP in the XTi amps is a great feature, but you need a pc connected to really work the DSP. For set and forget, it's great.

The limiter feature in the XTI amps is not very advanced. It's either off, -3db or -6db (IIRC). Not sure if it's true brickwall or something else. I should do some measurements. Anyway, the DCX/DEQ have the edge there.

For your situation you could use the XTi's DSP for system setup, crossover and EQ-ing your cabs. Keep the user friendly controls on DCX and/or DEQ to tweak to the room at hand, notching, etc.

The limiter is the only DSP I use in the XTi1000 I use for bass guitar. On the XTi2000 I use for PA I only use the EQ function. I have the DCX/DEQ combo for everything else.
