Does anyone use one of these to tame room modes on there subs in a HT set up? if so how good are they? and which one to use?

Attack it with Bass traps and sub placement first, then look at what you might want to do with EQ. Room modes are often untamable with EQ because they're phase interactions between reflections in a room. From what I've seen, a properly treated room will eliminate most need for EQ.
