+1, as it is the array will rattle like mad.

That's not where it would vibrate. It might in front of the driver, but once the phase plug extension is in place that should be sufficient to keep the screen from flapping.

Second one is coming along nicely. I figured out from the first one that it makes sense to put the convoluted foam in the hard to get to areas before attaching the sides.

Nice idea... Will incorporate that one into my next build. It's these little snippets of knowledge that makes me think that building a single 'test' cab first before embarking on a simultaneous 'multi-build' is the way to go. You cannot apply these changes to the build if all cabs are at (or around) the same point in the process.

I finished the pair, finally, a while back but haven't gotten around to posting pics.
The finished pair with one of my cats giving it the inspection and another coming along to provide a second opinion.
I built a pair of these stands since I opted to not put top hats in the cabinets and I intend to build a second pair further down the road. I decided to test the stand by sitting on it and it worked fine, and I'm not all that slim... so there will be no problem for these to hold up a pair of O-Tops each. The stands are quite stable with the speakers on them. I think my dog was itching to jump on there with me but I don't think that would have gone very well.
That's me playing a set on my full system at a park party I just threw. I opted to design and build my own vented subs due to easier build and smaller pack and storage space required versus tubas. In the future I will probably build a shed to store the system and then I can build the tubas. At any rate, the system as a whole sounds good and I got compliment after compliment with many specifically commenting on how clean the O-tops sound and look. Some of my DJ friends insisted on redlining the mixer

thus diminishing that super clean sound from the O-tops but that's a whole nuther story!

Great finish. Playing psytrance? decor somewhat suggests that
Bet the high end is appreciated with said music

Yes, a day of psytrance indeed! One of the best aspects of the party is that we had the system pretty much facing the track for the miniature train that goes through the park and it was a busy day with packed trains going by all day. Some of the train-riders just stared with some noticeable slack jaw. Some were fist pumping and getting into it. One family enjoyed it from the train so much that they came over after they got off the train and momma proceeded to dance her butt off. It was a lot of fun... and all those whizzy psytrance sounds were great on the O-Tops for sure!

Do what old schoolteachers used to do, get a metal ruler and slap their hands whenever it goes into the red. They'll soon learn that red LEDs = bloody knuckles.
Nice work on these.

Congrats on successfully completing your OTops! They take longer to build than you initially think they will...at least that's how it was for me. The end result is all that matters.
Two questions for you.
1. Are your stands collapsible (do they come apart for transport?). It doesn't appear that they do, but thought I'd ask anyway. I would really like a set of STRONG and stable platforms that come apart. See member Pulseman's STEEL stands...I will have a set like that built one day. I opted to not put tophats in my OTops either and though I came up with a safe and strong mounting solution, it is a time-consuming PITA to set up.
2. I see you're in Austin, but the pics of the park look familiar and you mention a little train that runs through the park. Were those pics taken in Landa Park in New Braunfels by any chance? Bruce Weldy's band plays there all the time and I'm about 20 mins from there.
