I’m trying to calculate power needs for the OT8’s. Does the compression driver post crossover alter the impedance load on the amp? Or is it going to be a flat 4 or 16 depending on wiring? I’m targeting feeding each OT8 400 watts to be split between the 8’s.

No, the CD does NOT change the impedance. The impedance of the box is whatever the woofers are based on their wiring and impedance.

Remember, amps don't put out watts, they put out voltage....it becomes wattage when it see a load. How much you give 'em depends on the drivers you are using and the crossover point. It's all about excursion.

Bottom line, those tops need very little power to scream.

Tell us which drivers and what amps you are considering....

There's no such thing as flat impedance with moving coil loudspeakers. The rated impedance is based on the minimum impedance, which only exists at a few frequencies.
