What you mean they don't all look like that? SAY IT AIN'T SO! Man, I'm devastated. Its like someone just killed the Easter Bunny. I guess its time to cancel my travel plans.

That's what we call it ( Dutch Oven ), but calling is as far as I would dare go. Doing that to The War Office would get one into seriously big trouble, and I still have a few cab building years ahead of me to enjoy - besides, I hate excruciating pain and burst ear-drums.subharmonic wrote: Next your gonna tell me they don't fart and pull the blankets over the war office and call it an oven, or dutch oven here.

Fully-auto assault rifles are a waste of time anyway. They are extremely expensive, but you can buy them. I think the m16 I shot was around 16K to buy and then a yearly permit fee. Anyway, I have shot a bunch of expensive and legal m16/ak rifles full auto and I'm lucky if I can get 1/3rd of the rounds on paper at 50 yards. Now the three shot burst option on some is pretty nice. miniguns and stuff... oh baby I wish those were all legal to own at least for going to the range and not just the ones made before the early 1980s. Just make them permit based just like full auto weapons now. I'll take my chances that someone will decide to light up an office or something as it would be pretty darn expensive to try and they would have to have an ultra-clean record to even get ahold of the weaponry.Bruce Weldy wrote:???Bill Fitzmaurice wrote: But we also don't see the need for private citizens to own military weaponry.
Not sure what you mean by military weaponry. Semi-auto? Assault rifles? Bazookas?
There has been this hue and cry over banning assault rifles....an assault rifle is simply a semi-auto that is dressed up to look like military.
Fully-auto weapons are illegal.
I got bored with no pictures so....

Pic of me holding the full auto m16 I was mentioning. Pic of me shooting my ar-15 that was equipped at the time with a night vision scope. Then I included a pic of a custom mosin. That's a stock I made with my father out of bird's eye maple. Made another one for a guy in texas.
And then some pics of a girl I was teaching how to shoot. She's darn good with handguns and at shooting clays. Her rifle shooting needs work.
Also I like to only take attractive women shooting. She had this thing about going shooting in heels once so I let her. It was funny how all the other guys kept coming up and asking me how to get their lady's to go shooting like that. I'm surprised I wasn't shot by a distracted redneck while at Knob creek

Where did you find that pic of my gf, Harley? You installed some kind of unknown kiwi virus on my hard drive to get hold of that?

Re: Don't let this happen to you
My mom and sister are both much better shots with the Ruger .22 pistol than me. They get some really good, tight groups on the target. They are scared of the 6" barreled S&W .357 because of the kickback, Magnum rounds through this gun give muzzle flash about one foot in diameter and make the gun want to jump out of your hands. I'm a much better shot with 12ga shotgun than them though. It's apparently scientifically proven that women are better shots than men. Huh.

Re: Don't let this happen to you
I was taught to shoot both left and right handed (I'm a natural lefty).
We used to have cadets corp here, and that involved shooting .303's, SLR's (7.62 Nato), M16's and M60's at various stages. All the auto/semi auto military style weapons have a habit of ejecting spent shells into your right cheekbone if you shoot left handed, so being able to shoot right handed in that situation was a good thing...

This does bring us back on topic, in a rather twisted (and for me uncomfortable) way: "Don't let this happen to you!!!"
