I think I wired it wrong but know where the problem is now. It was not your drawings, it was my following.

But at this point, I don't have the patience to do any more work on it, so it's staying like it is. Fortunately, it doesn't look as bad from a few feet away.
Can't see it from my house

Those are at least as good as I managed...on my second batch. My first batch is considerably rougher looking that that.

Great job!

Very nice build !
Is there any special gain in cutting out the vent slots after assembly as opposed to cutting out the vent slots before?
I'm a bit concerned cutting with a jig saw since it vibrates ALOT, it would perhaps overstress the joints?

I wondered the same thing myself, but I ended up just following the sequence in the plans. I don't know what adhesive you are using, but for those who use PL, the stress on the joints is not a problem. There is no way that the PL will come loose if you've let it cure well. The wood would break before the adhesive will fail.

Been working on melded arrays while I wait for more Duratex to arrive.

Image

And while I wait for the ABS cement to dry on the arrays, I took some time to crank out a case for my mics whose ABS cases are falling apart. I pulled out the foam insert from the ABS cases, built a wood box around them, added some rat fur I had laying around, and voila...

Image

Now I've got both sets of mics in one case. Just need to add hinges, latches, and a handle, and I'll be good to go. :D

If you got a shot of your complete workshop, it almost looks like you'd qualify for the coveted '5 Harley' award

Unfortunately, I think the only award I qualify for is the "skilled photo cropping" award. There's a reason I crop most of my pics to NOT show the surrounding area. Maybe I'll take a pic of it after I finish the cabs and get it cleaned up. :D

Got the melded arrays all glued up and spray painted. Still have to wire all but one of them...

Also got the last two boxes primed with the flat latex. Hope to roll on the Duratex later today...

David for what I can see in the bottom photo, I wouldn't worry about your garage cluter. It looks like you have a tidy garage; storage containers on a shelf indicates that your neat. I will put my vote in.

Oh ya! good job on the array

Thanks. My approach is usually to be very neat and organized when I'm not in the middle of a project. But when I really get into a project, I don't spend a lot of time putting away things that I'm just going to go find again the next morning. I also don't spend a lot of time disposing of scraps or cleaning up sawdust until the end or until I can't get to the other side of the garage without risking life and limb. :)

Got a fair amount done on Saturday. Got all the wiring done on the melded arrays...

Image

Also got the last filter wired up and all the filters mounted to the underside of the access covers...

Image

Also did some routing on a couple of the access covers for the adjustable top hats, but I didn't get pics of that.

Here's a group shot. They are still far from finished, but I was just test fitting the arrays to make sure I could get them in. After some sanding, grinding, and even a little trimming off the ends of some of the arrays, I finally got them to fit well...
