Do you have a brad nailer? I just shoot those with one or two brads - no clamps needed. If you already have a compressor, brad nailers are pretty cheap. They make building these boxes way easier and faster. And if you are building that many, it'd be worth getting a setup like that. No predrilling, no screw holes to putty up, etc.....

I mainly use 1/4" crown 18ga staples for fastening. They hold better than brads. My 25 year old gun died last week, I paid a whopping $39 for a new one at Harbor Freight.

Since needing an additional driverack purchase of more drivers for this project is on hold.
Could always plug one and run it with just one. I'd certainly be curios to hear your impression.

I imagine that would definitely be the best for thin material like the bendy ply on DRs. But, for 1/2" and tons of others uses (I use mine all the time for projects) - I'd stick with the brads if you can only buy one. Plus, the PL does all the work, right?
I haven't ever bought any Harbor Freight tools, but my Porter-Cable has fired a hell of a lot of brads over the years....and they still aren't very expensive for a long-term useful tool. $60 at Home Depot. And for 200-250 you can get kits with the compressor and one or two brad nailers.
Cheaper now than when I got mine.

I do have a nail gun but I have enough clamps that I do not hardly use my nail gun. If I deploy my clamps correctly enough I have success. I am interested in a big staple gun!!!

Progress on my tuba45 build. Patience, dados and clamps. This build is slow but going well. I do not have enough wood a few mistakes and I am now short on material. I will have to buy another sheet of wood.

I like your "clamps".

So do I. Quite a special model, insiders tend to refer to them by the name of "gravity clamps".
Quite effective, too. As long as you are not building your Tuba's in the

Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me, bricks. I also use bricks on my builds often. They help me to keep my sheets of plywood in place when I make cuts and have a lot of weight hanging off the table. They also help keep my projects from walking off while I am away at work.

Progress pics, one showing the driver baffle, one showing a seamless dado, one showing the cab progress as a whole. I will lean to cut handle holes in this cab as I did not on any of my other subwoofers. This is one of the reasons it is hell to move them.
If this subwoofer works well I intend to build 3 more, once complete I want to modify my old T45 cabs for handles and such.

This time around I am going to put some proper handles in my T45 cabs. When I built my original T45s, at the time I was just excited to be able to build them. I had not concept of actually moving or working with them. Over time the extra effort is worth it for good handles.
I would like to build 4 of these slightly smaller and slightly lighter cabs then I can take my old set out of service and refresh them. I want to put handles in and also finish all the cabs in Duratex!!!

I've also become a fan of handles. Specifically, handles cut into and fashioned from the native material. Of all the mass produced, manufactured screw on type handles I've had my hands on, none have matched the robustness and comfortable feel in the hand of the one's I've made by following Bill's plans.
