But, you've got to figure out how to post bigger pictures!
Thanks guys. And..

But I can! But I can make them bigger! (all updated now- 2015)

Hell, I used to do graphics for a living, I was just trying to save bandwidth for those challenged.

I'll make 'em bigger for the beauty shots I promise :)

Well whaddy'a know. Here it is, more than two years later and I finally found some extra shots of these, my first build. (sorry, was in the bathroom)

Better late than never eh? And don't hold your breath here, the shots would have been better but I can still hear the laughter of the Olan Mills staff when I brought them in an began posing them. (It's a painful memory and I don't like to talk about it)

So we'll all have to be content with a garage shot on a cheap plastic table.

In all their original glory:

So there you have it- CLOSURE!

*whew*

And I still don't care what crafty thinks.

ONWARD!

Great looking work! Especially on a first build.

What part of Indy are you in?

I like the handles you used on those. Where did you get them? My Jack has the heavy spring loaded steel handles. Yours look very clean.

What he said :loler:

And yes, they work great on the Jack. Low profile, good carry spot, comfortable. I like them so much I put them on both pair of Jacks I've built for myself, and suggest them to my clients.

About to start my own Jack 12 build and will be referring to this thread regularly, both for technical and comedic reference.

One question - which kit/which crossovers did you get from speakerhardware? (I'm assuming you got a kit, based on the BF badge ... which I totally dig, by the way)

Struggling to pick the correct xovers. Their website is not very good in the xover section, descriptions are lacking.
I have plenty of electronics experience, would prefer to save a few $ and wire my own, instead of buying the prebuilt. Frankly I don't like the prebuilt xover boards they offer, just need to make sure I'm choosing the right components.

Here's what I've come up with so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LP filter: https://www.speakerhardware.com/low-pas ... 00watt.php
HP filter: https://www.speakerhardware.com/high-pa ... -array.php

Fairly certain on my LP filter choice, it'll be paired with the 8ohm Kappalite 3012HO
The HP filter choice is a bit uncertain. I plan to build the 16x melded array.

There's nothing lacking in the plans.

Plans are very clear. It's trying to source the xover parts kit from speakerhardware.com that's my problem.

Their website is not at all descriptive in terms of which components you are getting in their crossover kits.

I may source the parts elsewhere, there are plenty of other suppliers and these are pretty common crossover networks... or I may just spend the $10 on the '2k High Pass 500w Crossover Piezo ' and see what arrives.

Also, I need to do some studying on the theory, will save my questions until after.

The kits have everything you need to build the crossovers. Trying to source those parts is a real PITA. I blew up a crossover once and finding parts was impossible - finally just ordered 'em from Leland....much easier.

When you order from speakerhardware.com all you have to do is select the crossover for the design. They will make sure all the required components are bagged up for you. No ordeal at all.....

I don't understand. Do you want a parts breakdown in the description? If so, that's copyrighted by Bill. The name is exactly what it is, a high pass at 2k for piezos. Every piezo cab except for the SLA pro uses that high pass filter. Did you click the tab "specifications"? It lists every cab it fits.
