yesterday both(have two now) cabs were fired up V-plated outdoors, no wall-loading or something.

Wow, just wow... Those guys have that REAL LOUD gentle authority... Actually I'm not using any eq, and I don't feel the need for it either.

I realised I could use a higher lpf than corner loaded(at least in my room), inside it's 80, outside I could increase it to somewhere between 115-125 and it only sounded better, and louder.

Couldn't handle the real lowest bass from dubstep but that's what T60's are for, I just wanna finish my second pair and create a earthquake :hyper:

THANKS BILL!

That's awesome osse, thanks for the update! It was all quite worth it, wasn't it?

I found the same thing about getting away with a higher HPF in the great outdoors than the typical indoor room.

I'm considering building a second pair of T30 but this time at minimum width. Not often they'd all be together, mostly for flexibility, but it would be a riot.

Good looking cabs, and the background scenery in that last picture looks wicked! Clean build.

Just started on a 16" autotuba, got 8 panels installed including bracers today, these go together fast I can tell you! Very fun build too, a bit trickier with more tricky angles and so forth than the t30's.. hope it will perform great in my small nissan micra..;)

Couple q's:

I see no voltage and hpf recommendations in the plans, will I hear when the woofer(TB) start to struggle before its too late? Any users around with experience on this and if you use hpf, at what freq do you set it?

I must also say(even if mentioned before around here), if you are in europe and wanna build at or TT, contact Reiner for the driver, top-notch guy! reiner@hardware-test.de

Any recommendations on amps?!

Thanks

Also, the TB woofer is crazy heavy! Must be equal weight of two 3012lf's...

I believe the HP is 40hz. You won't hear it complain until it's too late and the driver is gone. Someone else can fill in on the limiting but I believe it's around 25v.

Some folks on the forum use this amplifier; it has variable highpass and lowpass and plenty of power.

So far as I can infer from various postings, recommendable drivers take their full RMS thermal power in AT without running into excursion problems if you highpass at 40Hz.

Bill hasn't corrected this assertion before so hopefully you're good to go. I am planning to let 300W at my 350W BAT one of these days, limited and highpassed of course.

So I got the AT running, some leaks still to fix and to my ears some strange rattle but hope it will fix itself when I fix the leaks or hope I can fix it some way..

Anyway, are you ppl feeding it with 25 volts music level or are you feeding it with 60 hz sinewave, set gain/limiter and then play music throught it? I just did this, and the peaks of music reached 12-13 volts... and it does not play as desired, but as there is still leaks in the thing I won't judge it as for now.

I think it's pretty strange that the plans doesn't state how much signal I can feed the box, would I dare to feed it 25 volts music power and would I dare to use it without a limiter? Also here, as it's mandatory according to plans with limiter in the "pro" woofer series, is this design more safe than the pro stuff?

When it is as it's supposed, will it impress just as much as the T30's does? I don't know what to expect from it..

Yup, fix those leaks first because that will definitely help in the output response.

Not the proper method, but I used a volt meter as I played the music. I monitered it off and on just to keep in touch.

Because it's an auto sound sub, and they don't make limiters for cars.
