Sorry I know this is an old topic, but I´m wondering how to deal with the fact that I can´t get 1/2" wood here in Sweden which is 12,7mm. I can only get 12mm.

All of the baltic birch we get here is also 12mm. In any critical spot in the plans Bill will tell you to use the actual panel on the layout to compensate, or measure it. It's perfectly fine just to convert the whole shebang and start in. It will work fine.

The same way we deal with the fact that 1/2" plywood doesn't measure 1/2 inch thick. Follow the plans! For instance:
There is no such thing as plywood that measures a half-inch thick, so the actual finished lengths of all parts are figured by dead reckoning.
