Thanks to subharmonic and Radian for sticking with my crazy teenage basshead dreams on my old TT in the car thread, and thanks to Steve Regier for inspiring this insane idea for a car sub.

And of course, none of this could be possible without Bill's fantastic designs. Bill, this thing is incredible. Everybody thinks I have at least 12s loaded in here and whenever the bass hits they look like they've been kicked in the face. Thank you Bill for the outstanding design.

The Duratex isn't as durable as I had hoped. Maybe I didn't apply it correctly? I would have thought three full coats would have been good. It's taken quite a bit of scratching and gouging already, but part of this is because I used Arauco not BB. The next cabinets I take gigging often will be BB, and Line-X'd.

Either coating is only as strong as the material underneath it. Veneering a thin sheet of aluminum or stainless would help but not make it invulnerable. You could also try Formica but the problem with it is usually produces large chips with high impacts (dropping the box on the ground)

Well, I made a video and would have posted it, but, you can't hear the bass, it's too low for the camera mic. The song was "Rack City" by Tyga. I hate the song, but it has sickeningly low bass all the way through, lower than the 36hz Decibel song. At 1/4 volume, my blinds were visibly moving. I walk into my closet which is a huge bass trap. The shelves are visibly shaking, and I had a couple of things fall out of the shelves. I walk outside and the window is fluctuating about 1/16". Oops. I turned it down after that. This sub is sick. I actually enjoy listening to any kind of music now. Before with my ported sub, I would hear a good song with low bass and my heart would sink cause I knew I wasn't going to get the same listening experience as through headphones; my ported sub would be missing half the notes. Now, I can listen to everything with confidence that the TT will play the lowest notes.

Picture frame- check. I had a book fall from a shelf in my closet yesterday. I'm worried a window will be next. It was seriously flexing with some of that low Tyga bass. The camera captures it in like slow motion waves.
