Are any of them painted? You might want to give them a coat before you get too carried away. Even I waited til it was mostly painted (t60) before blasting mine.

You are so right! I just couldn't help myself though.. I'm like a kid in a candy store.. Luckily my Tubas only need the mouths painted since they are under the stage and just the mouth is exposed. I was going to ship these off to the club to get them out of the way but I couldn't do it without hearings them first. Now I want to go even deeper with EQing to really un-tap their potential

If I understand Bob's plan correctly, at least this first group of T60's will be underneath a stage, so only the mouths will show. Granted, some protective coating would be a good idea. A club environment is rife with spills, and those certainly leak everywhere. Being that Bob's got a fully-equipped shop, if I were Bob, I would at least spray a single coat of flat black over the entire exterior. It's a layer of protection.

If it were me, I'd coat them in Duratex. It's a protective coating, above all else. It would suck to have a cabinet ruined because the wood is not sealed and protected. Just because they are under a stage does not mean they are protected from moisture, insects, bumps and bruises. Duratex is relatively cheap insurance.

He could always paint 2 and listen to the other 2, then switch off once they dry.

Finishing and detail work is always the toughest to accomplish. :chainsaw:

Pretty hard to commit to another few days or even weeks once the fabrication part is over, but that's the difference between a road-worthy, useful cab versus a plywood box that sounds good.
Good food, good people, good times.

4 - AT
1 - TT
1 - THT Slim
2 - SLA Pro 4x6 Alphalite

Ya good point guys, its easy enough to roll em out just for some added insurance.
I knew once he switched them on, he'd never be motivated to get them finished! Unless you can duratex and bass at the same time.
Come on Bizkit give me some credit.. Its hard to resist firing them up at this stage

I promised my self I would only play around with my unfinished cabs this week then next week back to work!
The good news is tomorrow I'll be able to hear 4 Tubas with the DR's :hyper:

Ive been playing around with the Driverack 260, do you guys have any experience with this unit? Ithink I got it under control but was wondering if I should use the GEQ or the PEQ? The PEQ is only 9 bands but allows you to pinpoint any frequency but GEQ has I think 28 bands with fixed centers obviously.. Any suggestions on which one to use? Also the xover allow you to choose between BR, BW and LR is there any preference with these speakers?

i'd probably use the PEQ to tame speaker response, and then the GEQ to get it in line in the room.

Hmm I was under the impression you had to use one or the other. It did say the auto EQ only works with the GEQ but I believe still allows 4 bands of PEQ in this mode. Thats what confuses the heck out of me..

there is a pre and post xover eq section.

the pre xover eq can be toggled between peq, and geq. post xover there is a peq.
