You bridged two channels for the woofer, what did you do with the piezos? Did you bridge the other channel, or run one bank of tweeters on one channel and the other bank on the other channel?

I bridged both channels, two for the woofer and two for the tweeters. Effectively a two channel amp now. Was not enough power to get the full potential out of the design. Changing up the amplifier now.

***The Dayton full range plate amp that is stickied on the DR Horn sub-forum has unfortunately been discontinued. I have tried to see who they private labeled it from with no luck. Anyone know of a good source of a very comparable plate amp? I’ve seen a couple candidates from EV, Mackie, and JBL via replacement parts for their powered units.
The emphasis for a plate amp is for portability purposes.

The manufacturer specific amp modules will have pre-set crossover points and really won't work. Why not just build the passive crossovers? Less amp channels, easier to use, only 2 wire speaker cable instead of 4. I considered bi-amping, but I'm so happy that I didn't. It really isn't necessary.

I was thinking of what Bill said about the plate amp, all the features built in, proper power driven, and easy to expand for potential future cab count.
What do you propose for amplification, Bruce? A single channel plate amplifier with passive crossover to the tweeters and an inline DSP and Bluetooth board/chip from the Dayton line?

Right now the cab has both the tweeter and woofer crossovers installed. I know the crossovers do their intended jobs and DSP isn’t required, but just helps get the most out of the cab, especially since I only have one currently.

Honestly, I don't remember exactly what you plan to use it for - I assume playing recorded music. Any reason you can't just use a regular power amp? Are you planning to install a plate amp in these? Build a separate box for the amp? Attach it to the Jack?

You're right, it looks like Part Express isn't selling the plate amp that Bill suggested.....I have one in my SLA Pro, but I still used the passive crossover and just used the main amp to drive it all. I didn't want to take the chance that a setting could be messed up and blow the tweets. Because there are push button settings on the back that will let you change the DSP scene. Unless you set up everyone of them the same, you'd alway stand the chance that someone could push one of those buttons and it revert to factory settings and send 1khz to the Piezos....they wouldn't like that.

Personally, I'd just get a 2 channel power amp, use the passive crossovers in the plans and get on down the road. Then when you get the second one, you're ready to go - just plug in to the other amp channel. That also means that you aren't tethered to a power cord. You can run as long of a speaker cable as you want, while all of the power requirements live in one spot to handle the amp and your DJ gear.

Maybe this isn't what you want to do. If not, tell us a little more about what and why you want to use a plate amp and we can give you better advice.
