The XR18 and XR32 seem pretty sweet. I have seen the 18 as low as $600 which seems like a steal for everything that it does. I talked to the Behringer rep about it at it at the Sweetwater Gearfest. The first thing he said to me was don't use the wifi. Guess interference is a problem.
For the monitor mix, I prefer to let the band adjust their own. Floor monitors aren't so bad, but in-ears drive me crazy. Especially when they want a "stereo" mix for each band member. Which is another reason why the XR18 and 32 are so tempting. They are compatible with Behringer's Powerplay in-ear system. For about $250 a pop, everyone in the band get's their own 16 channel mixer.

Re: presonus Studio live
ha ha..yea, I just mean the whole reason I'm there is for service, they shouldn't have to be concerned with these things, I like to take care of it for them. It's a nice idea on paper, but doesn't work in real life, many musicians have no idea about pa really, and making them have to go through you to get what they want acts like what i call "a nerd gate", they get what they want without having to mess with the technical stuff. The problem I have found is they often don't know what they want, and more often than not, think it's a volume issue (because that's the limit of their understanding) when it's more often an eq or dynamics or positioning issue.James Champer wrote:Yeah, I would never tell my band that it's even a possibility. It's tough enough to get them to concentrate on silly things like, you know, notes and stuff.
