I don't think the soundsystem culture is very big in the US. I doubt many need to worry about link ups between sounds in cities.
Shame really... A lot of great designs and now large touring companies emerged from soundsystems.

I think the big issue is that there are are a large number of STATES alone that are larger than great britain. Its easy to team up when your country can be driven coast to coast in less than half a day.
there are a number of people pushing soundsystem culture, but they are separated by about 1000 miles or more, meaning you might as well just build more boxes in your own city than worry about having someone else drive theirs.
