They are basically end mounted. All the other designs minus the TrT (taking a shot since I have never seen one) would be a PITA to remove.

Thanks guys. I have actually already been using a flashlight to go over the joints. I haven't done it with the lights off, I think I'll do that to double check everything. I definitely highly recommended the flashlight trick. I found weak spots where the PL was thin, that wouldn't have been seen without the light.

Make sure to use lots of screws and PL on the final panel...good luck. I always get nervous attaching the last panel.

Make damn sure all your panels are flush before adding it. Then the long 24 hours of truth,.it is a crucible of patience....don't let the fates tempt you to fire it up before its cured and leak tested.

Haha! You guys are hilarious. No, I didn't OB, and my woman's not sitting on one! I got them connected, and at first was worried because there wasn't much bass coming from them. I tried uploading a video, but it didn't work, so I'll take another one. I'm pushing these with a behringer inuke 1000 with dsp. Once I hooked my pc to the amp, and adjusted frequencies, x-over, and eq, they got a lot louder. The bass isn't as loud as I would like at my listening position, but it's not bad. I'm sure it's all about placement, as my kitchen cabinets and windows vibrate something ridiculous. I haven't really messed with repositioning them yet, because I'm trying to get them to sound the best I can where I'd like them to be.

I did make a change to the plans. I'm not sure how much I'm effecting the output, but maybe I am. I extended the overall length of the tuba's at the opening, so they're 7"-8" longer than they should be. I have them standing up, and they are exactly 1 1/2' from the ceiling. I'm not sure if I'm "choking" these subs, but I'm considering cutting them down to the length they're supposed to be. I just wanted them to be taller, without building a stand/pedestal for them. Should I cut them down? Did I alter the output?

By lengthening the end, you lowered both the cutoff frequency by a few hz and the sensitivity by perhaps 1 Db. Shouldn't have much effect on output. Have you hooked a voltmeter to it to see how much you're actually pushing it? I don't think the inuke 1000 has much oomph but then again I don't actually have one.

If they are easy to move try doing a sub crawl. After putting them in ideal positions seeing how the bass should sound then decide where you should put them. See if there is a secondary position that is a good compromise.

IF the bass is still wanting recheck for airleaks and be as anal as you can, don't assume anything. Check it.

The drivers I used handle 300 watts rms @ 4 ohms. The inuke puts out 300 x 2 @ 4 ohms. And like I said, it rattles cabinets, windows, and more. It's got plenty of oomph for me!

I'm pretty happy with the output since I've adjusted the amp with my pc, it's just that the bass is way louder in places other than the LP. I still may do the sub crawl, but don't think it's completely necessary as I do have plenty of bass with two of these.

Measure, measure, measure! Do not trust your ears, especially indoors! Measure the amps output at the speaker terminals with a DIGITAL A.C. VOLT meter. Use a 40Hz sine wave, and measure with and without the cabs hooked up. Test them outside, in as open an area as you can (Nothing within 50 feet) using a known working, unweighted SPL meter and measurement mic.

The clean bass that horns produce can be very deceiving to the ears.
