Those are where the speakons are located on the Sketchup model on the T45. I'm assuming there's going to be plates installed with them in.

If that's the case, it might be tough to get a good air tight seal.

actually, both wrong, holes are intentional, don't worry

the gap at the very front of the cab is for the next panel, (not installed yet) and the holes in the driver chamber section are necessary for my selected driver.

arg, another rookie mistake, created a parallelogram /=/ instead of a rhombus /=\ shape for panel 9... that'll teach me for trying to cut after dark on the deck on a sunday night in the rain... hehe

sooo.... whats the minimum distance between holes in the bracing? I dont want to honeycomb it TOO much, but would like to drill/hacksaw out the middle of the larger braces that aren't seen but not sure how far to go with it..

nevermind on last comment, just ripped a couple of dodgy holes in them and threw them in To help with any confusion about air-leaks (previous question) I have the latest update... panel 9 installed, only two more main panels and their braces (going to have a go at the scooped braces, they look sweet).

Build is coming along great fester.. did you ever figure out where that extra 1/8 inch went? I was thinking of building one of these myself..

the measurement for the top corner of where panel 1&2 join is slightly out, but by less than 1/8. on the next one I'm going to measure everything out (including all the baffles) first to make sure everything fits correctly. Right now I'm having to measure all the baffles manually as the measurements are not exactly measuring up to the ones in the plans. I might even go so far as to make some cardboard mockups of the baffles to make sure I'm getting all the angles of the panels right.

Anyway, panel 10 is in and its looking not too bad, pretty square all around, just the angles of the panels are a little off. It's definitely harder than the T24 was for me... and the Otops..

final panel installed, phew! now for those braces... ugh, string and pins to measure the oval cutout shapes, no fancy tools here! Pretty happy with them so far. Just have the two reflector panels at the rear and a few braces to go. Final side is ready to go, driver run in, oh yeah, also have to do access panel flanges... doh.

P.S. those braces are just sitting there, not glued in yet, the horizontal cuts would be difficult if they were!

almost there! I wanted to ask opinions on the design of the final brace... In the sketchup model the curved braces are flush where they meet, but I cut my horizontal brace a bit too shallow. It doesn't look all that bad, I'm just wondering if it really needs to be flush? I had a really hard time getting the curves right with my string and pin method!
I'm guessing that it wont make a lot of difference to the sound, as you can just do 90 degree cuts on these braces, but just checking.

I imagine that as long as the minimum size of the horizontal brace (as prescribed in plans) is in the correct location on both of the sides it shouldn't be an issue.

You probably have a 'deeper' brace than was specified anyway, to accommodate the glorious curves? ? ?

Cab is looking near on identical with the T60 I just built. Interesting that you are questioning some of your measurements, I always confuse myself whilst setting out the panel lines; struggle to decide precisely where to put them - 1/2 inch this side of the line / or 1/2 inch that side of the line Never had any dramas regarding what to do with lines before that

as I posted in another thread, I have just tried an experiment with the final panel on this sub... I put gasket tape (like driver cover) along all of the edges of all panels that are flush with the final side (except for a small bit at the end... ran out of tape!). I then screwed the final side in place and proceeded to run a leak/rattle test with the cover off.

Mind blown.

no leaks, amazing bass at 20v (high/low pass set on the driverack), actually I lie, there is a leak, where i ran out of tape! I have attached a pic of the small 2 inch section where I didn't have enough tape, there was a LOT of air shooting out here, I was very surprised how much actually, especially at the mouth of the horn, I expected it to be less.
