I wonder whether Tuba 60s would work with JTR Growler drivers. They are good for 2000 watts a piece, so 4kw a cab = 32kw power handling! I do wonder about some super beefy driver upgrades from the lab12 with more power/excursion.
No. It's an auto driver he's modified to run in a horn. Very low fs, not suitable for Bill's cabs. Part of the tradeoff in loud, low, small. He chose low, and to a degree, small. Overcame the loss of loud with a driver that handles massive power.
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.

They might like the 33hz but its the 333hz that increases their sex drive. British insurance company Hiscox did a clinical study years back.

I was at You Topia this weekend http://www.fuegodiego.com/ and camped just a few yards from these guys.

Very impressive and just about the loudest thing I have ever heard. I had a good look around it and met a couple of the guys.

.. but after watching "that video" where he said he engineered the speakers...

I know what sounds good and bad, but not necessarily why something sounds good or bad. I'm still scratching the surface of that craft.

But I will try to articulate it. In my very humble opinion:

Waaaaaaaay too much bass. Didn't sound awesome.

"sizzly" is kind of a good way to describe it. I wish I was better qualified to nail it down.... bass aside, how about headphones that aren't quite on properly?
