thanks Robin.
Here's a wiring question: If I have a 50' length of 12 gauge speaker cable but the terminals from the jacks to the crossover are 16 gauge (3 or 4 inches), is my resistance limited to the 16 gauge or is the short length of it insignificant?

No. 16ga is fine for that short of a run. The 12 gauge handles the longer run.

Thanks Bruce. You're becoming quite an asset to this group. Our setups are very similar too - less OTops for me but, DR250s on the way. If I ever make it to TX I'll be sure to look you up.

That's mighty nice of you to say. And rest assured....if I don't the answer - I'll make something up.

Long shot here:
But, does anyone have any PRE March 2012 throat fillers for a DR250. Or, any material to make one or more??? I can't find any 1" rigid foam in anything less than 4'X8' sheets

Have you tried Hobby Lobby?
Or, that green stuff that florists use?

I'll check the florists. Is that stuff closed cell? It needs to be closed cell, correct?

I could not find 1" either so I made it! I took 1/2" foil faced ridged closed cell foam and pealed the foil face off of both sides. After I had two peices peeled I used 3M Super77 spray glue and laminated two pieces together. After they setup overnight I cut them to the dimensions in the plans and used them as directed.

I found some Styrofoam that might work but will be extremely messy to work with. Any luck on your end Leland?

Almost time to finish up this thread.
Here's the cab back ready for some kind of finish that I mulled over for a long long time. Next to it is a simple 12U rack I threw together. for Sketchup PM me.
Another shot of the same showing the end/back joining filler whatever pieces curing.
And the long filler piece to complete the back except for trimming, sanding, painting, etc.
And now, for the solution - a 1-1/2" strip, followed by a 3/4" strip (not shown). Filled it with Bondo and rounded the whole corner:
