so from that picture I'm deducing that it's just running something through the drill hole to clean out debris???

ahhh, interesting... so you're creating threads for the T-nut... interesting... I'll see if HD has one when I go back this afternoon looking for weather stripping

Not creating them, cleaning and restoring them. The die does the same with the bolt.

well, while I'm waiting for my wood building buddy to come back so we can work on panel 3...

my partner was thinking instead of using weather stripping or speaker gasket go get a rubber 1/16th inch gasket like at checker and seal that down to the wood instead.... the stuff like you would use for a car (for panel 3 and the access panel)

(that's his idea not mine).... I was wondering wouldn't 1/8 inch thick pvc foam weather stripping from home depot work the same as the speaker gasket tape from parts express????

I've used the weather strip style stuff for access covers. The gasket tape is prob slightly better. As for the rubber stuff- Nah, don't think it would be as good at irregular gap filling as the foam tape.

The tap looks right, but you need the handle to go with it.

lol, yeah, I noticed that now that you think about it.... no handle that was just the bit basically... time to go to lowes to scout out the taps...

ok, I just realized that the MFW-15 driver I have already has a gasket around the edge... is it still recommended to lay down gasket tape around the edge of the driver hole and seal the driver gasket to the gasket tape???

Only if you get leaks around the gasket, when installed. I would say "install it now to be safe." If I have the gasket tapa available, I'll use it. I don't like having to take drivers out once they are mounted the 1st time.

sweet... just wanted to make sure it wasn't detrimental to double up on the gasketing if not needed. but yeah, got 50 feet of gasket tape, might as well be safe than sorry

haven't posted pics or updates for a few days so here goes

I have one quick question... I'm literally on the last cuts and have like 1 piece of wood leftover for one of the final reflectors.... the 2 "3.5 inch" reflectors near the top (panels 1 and 2 and panels 1 and 8 reflectors) ... 1 cut one of them exact and the there is one scrap leftover that is 3 inches instead of 3.5 inches (otherwise I'll have to go buy a whole nother piece of baltic birch)... do they both have to be PERFECTLY identical or is one at 3.5 inches and one at 3.0 inches ok???
