That's correct. I made that mistake as well. Just screw them in using locking washers that are small enough to ensure the screw head wont go through them.
It does seem like I remember seeing this on the forum somewhere now that I think about it. Very cool. I was not able to work on these this weekend at all as I had hoped, so maybe next weekend. If not then, definitely after the 15th.

Hi everybody,
Man...I've missed ya'll...haven't posted or visited in a little while. Not too many gigs since mid December, so the pressure to hurry up the OTop 12 builds is gone since I've got standby EV tops, so I've been taking a very leisurely pace. Working outside has not been too conducive either. The baffle, top and bottom are looking OK, but I must be off some because the throat reflectors are going to require some reckoning...not really too hard to cut, just not fitting my boxes just right. I'm hoping the design is forgiving there...likely will be using extra PL. Ya'll find the reflectors tricky?
Thanks!
Donny

OK...here's a pic...I've got some Auralex 2" wedges inside...shouldn't that be OK? This will go on the top and bottom interior also correct? I know for interior access panel (leave room for magnet and crossover).

I'm not sure on the new style otop, but the older one the handle holes have to be open as they are ports.

Oh yes...I have them in the box, just have not cut them out in the foam yet.

Well the first coat of paint went on my OT12's today...finally. This build has really been spread out over several months.

I put them up on stands...it's gonna take some getting used to looking at these little things after having my old tops that are about double the weight and size. Two stacked together looks alot more like what I'm used to.
This is what's left:
Cut, assemble, wire and install piezos
Install and wire crossover
Install batting
Install back panel gasket
Break in and install woofer
Wire and install jack
Install top hat
Install chevrons

Hear he, hear he. So true.
My brother in law (who has seen everything i have built) asked me if I was fixing them since the cover was off. I couldn't understand what he mean until I figured out that he was under the impression I had not built these cabs.

Thanks Mike. Tomorrow should be mounting everything and the batting and wiring the piezos, possibly installing them too. I'm so excited to hear these things. Been a very long time coming.

If you haven't heard the piezo arrays before, I think you'll get a smile. Just apply a little eq to tone done the top end on them and the cymbals and high hats will truly shimmer. Of course, the 120 degrees of dispersion doesn't hurt either
