you can build a 2x15 version, but it's not recommended for PA use because it's really too big to pole mount.
It's a large and heavy cabinet.

i guess it would be wouldnt it!! lol so based on that, for ease of transport and setup, you would build two single Otop 15s for midbass on each side and then i have a 12in as well, i could just do an Otop12 and then iv got the dual6"+tweeter box on top doin nothin but >1500hz.

does that sound like it would have plenty of capacity?

it sounds like a muddy mess of loud crap actually.

Here's the deal...
Your original question was: "What should i do with 4x 15 inch +2x 12inch drivers?"

The experts told you that you should sell those to help finance a build with the correct drivers.
Thus answering your question.

Since you continue to ask questions based on what you think will work, while basically ignoring the advice of the experts... then I have to assume that you have already decided to build something that your drivers will fit in, against the advise that you were given.

Ok... there are a few things that could happen.
There's about a 1% chance that you might get lucky with your drivers and it will work.
More than likely, you will get less than desirable results with the tops and you will blow your speakers if installed in subs.

Here's the part I take issue with:
Assuming that the drivers work ok and even sound better then the boxes they are currently in, then you will start using them while you save for the correct drivers.
In the meantime, you have cabs that you think sound good because you have nothing to compare them to.
So now, you're using these quasi-BFM cabs at shows where people are seeing and hearing them.
Joe Blow sees and hears your cabs and recognizes them as BFM cabs because he's seen them on the internet. He says to himself "hmmm, they don't sound as good as I thought they would. In fact, I think I like my Peavey PR15's better and they only cost $200/ea"
Now, Joe Blow goes and tells his friends over at the other message boards that he heard the BFM cabs and they didn't sound all that great.

See where this is going? Not a good senario.

Now, with that being said... you buy the plans and you can do whatever you want with your build.
But you have been warned of the less then desirable results from many of the people on here who have a pretty good idea of what they are talking about.

One more thing...
Mixing cabs is a bad idea. If you try to use an OT15 + an OT12 + your dual 6"'s + tweeters... it's just going to be a big loud mess that will be a nightmare to crossover correctly, impossible to EQ, and... well... it's just a bad idea.

Please don't take offense... I'm just trying to be completely straight up with you.
Find a way to get by and save your money for the correct build/drivers for your needs.
I promise that if you do that, you will thank us for the advise.

Read, read ,read the forums. Read everything. Learn everything you can from the ones who have already done the trial and error.

so with the mid. what do u suggest i do? tens, twelves or fifteens? less is more i know. so ideally i would want one pair of cabs taking as much of the range as possible? so knowing that bass is being kept by the tuba30 x2 should i find out the yamaha T/S and build an OTOP for it?
are fifteen inch mids gonna sound odd coupling to twelve inch basses?
should i even go smaller with the mid and run a ten for the mid??

what i could even do is just put the djtech woofer into the weconic box coz its a hardier/louder driver and use it as a mid whilst collecting funds for a "Proper" omnitop and use the 6inch box as my high range to compliment the 15 but its still going to be missing part of the range due to the cut offs of each driver. im trying to come to a compromise between full house all new, and what iv got.

iv just ordered a pair of eminence drivers so iv already taken that advice. im not trying to fight everyone, iv already gone over budget and am trying not to do it twice, but as bill has already said, building something based on what i have isnt the right way about it. and i get that.

so back to my question. tuba30s with ....... and dual 6inch+tweeter. what fits???

no, the driver diameter doesn't matter
should i find out the yamaha T/S and build an OTOP for it?
Find out the parameters of the Yamaha drivers.
If they are a match, then go for it. If not, then wait until you can get the correct drivers.
what do u suggest i do?
I'm still not clear on what configuration your 15's are in.
If they are in a dual15+horn box, then just use those for your mid/high until you can save up to build an Omnitop or DR. High pass them at 80hz or so and let the Tubas handle the low-end.
In that case, I would not mess with using the dual 6" cabs. I think it would be much more trouble than it's worth.

what do u suggest i do?
I'm still not clear on what configuration your 15's are in.
my 15s are each in a reflex box, two are a cube(djtech subs) and the other two are a taller full range cab (weconic wh15)
If they are in a dual15+horn box, then just use those for your mid/high until you can save up to build an Omnitop or DR. High pass them at 80hz or so and let the Tubas handle the low-end.
i could put them into a dual horn and use the tweeter but being different woofers id have to divide the cab internally. and i just checked but making a new front baffle on the taller box wont work coz its slightly too short so they would have to either be left in their individual cabs( which would also pose phase issues) or build horn type enlosures for them to play in...
In that case, I would not mess with using the dual 6" cabs. I think it would be much more trouble than it's worth.
my reasoning for wanting to use the separate high range cab is coz the weconics are quite flat and lifeless above about 1500hz and so thought adding a smooth crisp hi range box would help it sound cleaner.

http://billfitzmaurice.info/forum/viewt ... =16&t=7789

considering that is pretty well what im aiming at? or is it still the phase issue?? and the different drivers..

my question actually wasnt answered

fill the dots!!! iv already said, im using eminence deltas inside tuba30s. full stop. bass solved.

what is recommended as mid bass?? disregard BFM boxes for a moment. IF i just leave my 15s in their own cabs theyre going to cause MORE phase issues. so if i have 15s as mids, no prob. OR, do i have 12s as mids?? no probs ther either.. im asking what would sound better??? 12s or 15s????? (AS MIDS) to make my request simple. hypothetically assume every single T/S parameter is the same which would be better?? 12 or 15??

You've been offered good advice already and it seems people have been patient and genuinely trying to help you out and understand what you are trying to achieve.

However, a demanding attititude like this is not the way to go about getting your problem solved. An attitude check is in order before you go any further.

if i may start again then.

my first question was what do i do with my speakers. answer was sell them.
i cant do that.
i will be without speakers.
so next question,
what should i get then, answer: good speakers. > solved. tubas with deltas.

my next question now, what should i fill the gap with?

i appologise for snapping but its frustrating when im getting "lolz" for asking questions that im not getting answers to.

i know my post initially says "What should i do with 4x 15 inch +2x 12inch drivers" and that was answered on the first page. fair enough, theyre crap. replace them. but i need to use them or i have nothing.

and my plan has been criticised for being lousy. unfortunately yes, it is. but it works. maybe not great, but its better than what i had.

in saying what doug did
Assuming that the drivers work ok and even sound better then the boxes they are currently in, then you will start using them while you save for the correct drivers.

Now, Joe Blow goes and tells his friends over at the other message boards that he heard the BFM cabs and they didn't sound all that great.

i understand that. hence why i then asked if i could pair up my drivers and then got snapped for that...
so i then asked, well what should i use as mid cabs?? and here we are.

there are so many different configurations that i have no real idea what to choose to use. i have an idea with car audio, and home entertainment, but iv only ever been to parties/pubs/clubs/raves never really owned the gear and held one.

so what type of cab would be best matched to a pair of tubas.

Something with usable response to 100hz.
If you do otops with whatever, dump the 6's. Buy some piezos, do straight arrays, they're dirt cheap. You won't need the 6's. If your driver has the requisite rising midrange response you don't need them. If it doesn't, eq it so it does.

Find your t/s parameters with this as a guide. http://www.mh-audio.nl/downloads/Read-Measuring-tsp.pdf
That's how I did it years ago. All you need is your computer as a sine wave source, a resistor, a 1cu ft box and a resistor.
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.

Speakers are like tools, and have to be the ones appropriate to the job(s) and always involve compromises.
There are many levels of amateur and pro sound, hence many different configs to fit many considerations.

Not to dissuade you from measuring loudspeaker T/S parms ( which I do ), but in your case, perhaps email inquiries directly to the manufacturers would be helpful and expedient.
You will not be able to easily or cheaply measure key parameters yourself.
