Wouldn't it be just simpler to use an in-line attenuator?? Like that, no power would be wasted, the driver wouldn't be overdriven, and he could just use a regular amp.jcmbowman wrote: I'd make sure to get and amp with a remote gain knob. Also - because of the way the human ear hears bass compared to other frequencies, you're going to want quick access to that knob to adjust the bass to different listening levels. I regularly find myself turning the bass down as I turn the volume up just to keep things balanced.
But don't know, I've never done this, i figured this might work since this is what i'm going to do with the xovers for my home system. Unless you spend a good chunk of money and a quality stereo receiver, the xover functionality sucks on them.
And oh yeah, about the PE thing - usually they're great about timely orders and all that, but i just place an order on saturday and I they haven't even shipped as of now. pretty weird. And I discovered I missed ONE jack plate for my main tops, so now i have to keep using them with the spring terminals
