How true. I just looked at my manual again, and, for the NU6000, the RMS output is 1100w/channel at 8 ohm , and 2100w/channel at 4 ohm. In the "bridge" column there is a dash, both for 4 and 8 ohm, meaning.....do not bridge. The NU3000 and NU1000 both allow bridging.

Maybe what they meant was "If it were possible to bridge the NU6000 you could theoretically achieve 6000 watts for a small fraction of a second.....but only in a controlled test environment. Therefore, the NU6000 name is suggestive and simulated."

Hmmm, where to start lol

I have 2 DCX's, one was purchased as the first failed, the well known blinking screen doing nothing issue. I'll pull it out one day and see if the reseating of all internal patch cables fixes it, but even if it does, I won't trust it again. The newer one has been faultless to date.
I've since picked up an open box PA2+ for an unbelievable price, and, considering I don't need to get the DEQ as well, nowadays, the driverack is a much cheaper option, at least where I am.

I have 3 DEQ's, because 2 have failed. Probably power supplies. Both during a show. The third has started glitching, but a cable reseat has sorted it.
I now have DBX EQ's for my analogue rig and they have been faultless. Perhaps not the best, but certainly rider friendly and not as bad as some, at reasonable prices.
I still use a DBX Dual 31 for FOH as well, I like faders I can reach instantly, rather than trying to do it on my desk. This is despite having BBS EQ's in my Soundcraft Expression II.

My Ultragraph Pro dropped a channel mid show, at the time, it was on FOH duty. Unforgivable. Will become landfill.

The only thing that hasn't failed is an old Berry FX unit...

I think the NU4-6000 and NU6000 are essentially 2 3000's in one case, which would explain why the 6000 isn't bridgable... it already is.

I haven't been able to find the ratings you're seeing in your manual. Wish they were more obviously placed.

This guy got pretty much the same results your manual states. Could go a long way in turning their reputation if they were upfront about it and they put out what they say, or more.

I have looked online and can't find the RMS specs. In my mind, that means that they have pulled the RMS specs out of their manuals. My manual goes back 5 years.
And, I agree with you about giving out realistic specs.

They're all Class D. And, yes, it adds up quick. I only use 4RU cases. Any more than 2 amps gets a little unmanageable for the type of stuff I do. Weight aside, just the size of 6RU and larger cases makes them awkward to handle if I need to pick them up for any reason.

Pickup is what I haul cases with, not what I do with them.

You young guys can keep lifting that stuff....I'll just keep rolling mine. Which of course means, I don't do second floor gigs.....or haul up steps....

Yeah I'm guilty of that. I don't mind lifting. But I know that'll change in the next 15 years or so. So to save my back now I use those wooden vehicle hand trucks and appliance dollies. Those make life much easier.

Most of my gigs have been set up on boats. Rolling cases and gear from the parking lot to the boat is great. From that point on, there's a lot of lifting.

Sometimes, it's from a wharf to an intermittent transport boat to final destination, loaded up and over the rail onto another boat and deployed across several boats tied together. Reverse for load out. Standing in the transport boat, the wharf is about chest high. (well... chest high if you're 6'+) Every speaker, case, bag, instrument... It is a work out.

It's a big part of why I want to build my cabs as light as possible.

The only way I'd take that gig is if stevedores did all the grunt work.
