Metal bands on the whole aren't particularly loud, mainly because the guitars are so heavily compressed. I've measured many country bands who played louder than the average metal band. I'm not talking about garage bands, I'm taking about top names in metal. I can also say that most of the guys I've met from metal bands are really level headed and as nice a bunch as you'd ever come across. OTOH some rumors are true. Daryl Hall really is an asshole, but he's not so bad compared to Gene Simmons :roll:

Your bass amp is NOT a PA. Putting kick drum through it at the kind of volumes you are talking about is going to blow the drivers.

I agree. I've never had grief from metal bands. However, (as a Christian it pains me to say, but...) I've had more grief from gospel groups I've worked with than any other genre... :roll:
