A jig thread would probably be the most helpful thing ever, you'd be a true legend BassMasterBob.

I'm sure many of us would LOVE to emulate your build tyl, esp those of us looking to build large numbers of cabs (I might be building 6 T60s by mid august), and also might be upgrading from ot12s to dr280s lol.
Hey sine I could make a new thread strictly for jigs.. I can also email them to you as well if you'd like? I'll be back in the shop tmrw and I'll snap some pics of them.

Sorry for slower progress.. Been kind of busy. Tmrw I'll be back at it! Meanwhile I got all the sides and PVC installed last night. Sanded and filled all the screw holes as well.

Awesome progress, Bob! That stack of DR280 innards is a beautiful thing.

I second the polite request for a jig thread. Having just learned about jigs myself (simple handle-hole jigs) I have already learned how much time/effort they save you. When you can, it would be great to have a jig thread.

Sorry guys been really busy with other aspects of the nightclub so I haven't made it into the workshop :( I did sneak in today and made up the tweeter modules. I ended up making a jig especially since I had no wax paper lol.. At first I thought it was a waist of time but it definitely sped the process up now that I look back at it.

I ended up doubling the material, Im going to use a pocket screw through this extra meat rather than the nacelles.

Can I suggest you just try that with one cab, to begin with.
You have to remember that the module back plate actually seals the driver chamber and I ended up with 5 bolts (with my other off the plan method) either side on my DR250's to get adequate seal.
Your cabs are a bit taller again...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Shoot!! I already did all 6 cabs. I could easily add the nacelles if need be anyway. Are you using gasket tape to seal? Ill throw a driver in one and test it to see how well it seals. I had planned to put a few fasteners in behind the tweeters as well so hopefully it seals.

Yes, I used gasket tape to seal.

I had a bow in one cab to deal with and it did pull up well.
Give it a try, see how you go, might not be a prob for you...

Ok guys I'm back at it again and eager to get these done! Today I got all the cabs and finished all the tweeter modules. I did end up skipping the nacelles and just put a pocket style hole to mount the modules. I tested one and it shows no sign of leaking.

Pockets are perfectly OK, but as few builders have the necessary large drill press required to do it safely it's not mentioned in the plans.

What is the "Grand Opening" schedule looking like? I feel a "Bean-town" road trip is in order. Strictly on a fact-finding, mission, mind you! :hyper: :noob: :fruit:

If I have enough lead time, I too would like to come and hear this BFM system in action.

It's looking like mid Sept and things are flowing pretty smoothly right now so I cant see that not being met. It would be cool to have you guys come, as I get closer I will keep updating so I know when the exact opening will be.
