Seems like i will really like having the second one, i can't jam with just 1 at the volume we play it will make the drivers too much used in a short time, like i drive it a lot... with 2 of them i'll lower them for the same spl and i'll be able to mic the kick properly with some eq on the daw.

Today we had rehearsal after several weeks off. I had the speaker cabinets up on top of an old road case which placed them about 30" above the floor. Drummer commented that he could hear me "very well" and the lead guitarist asked me to turn down TWICE. Bass sound, to put it mildly, was simply excellent. First time in years where I did not strain to hear myself and could hear myself everywhere in our rehearsal space. I was only running at about half power. Always nice to cruise along like that knowing you have all that power in reserve if you need it and especially nice being able to cut through two very loud guitarists and a drummer.
Just to clarify I am running a pair of 110's and they are 600 watts each. Also our rehearsal space does have sound treatments (although not sound proofed) and the drums sit behind a carpeted drum wall. Even with all of this it is still very loud and we all wear earplugs.Tom Smit wrote: ↑Tue Apr 17, 2018 11:03 pm @ Electric Wisdom, I read your post last night and wondered how loud it must be during your practice. You have a 2-12 which is not enough(?) and in another Build Thread a 1-10 was too much.Das Jugghead wrote: ↑Tue Apr 17, 2018 7:42 pm Another update for the gentle reader.

Your bass amp is NOT a PA. Putting kick drum through it at the kind of volumes you are talking about is going to blow the drivers.Electric Wisdom wrote: ↑Fri Apr 20, 2018 12:42 pmMic or trigger > cable > tascam us1200 > daw > dsp process or a kick sample remplacement detector > Crown PA > 2 x Simplexx212
Not since I was 19 years old, and back then we had a valid excuse: there was no such thing as good PA. Nowadays it's just a stupid ego trip with the only reward being premature deafness.Electric Wisdom wrote: ↑Thu Apr 19, 2018 3:43 pm do you play with a drumer that's loud as fuck that blast beats 80% of the time with a signer that growls his entrails and a guitarist always too loud at high gain distortion with his amp thats almost going to explode?
Trust me i know how to mix and i know when drivers are working too hard, i will not do something stupid.Bruce Weldy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 20, 2018 1:14 pmYour bass amp is NOT a PA.
