It's massive! I definitely won't be easily able to conceal this with a hatch cover. So instead I'm thinking of ways to rig some sort of blanket or curtain, or heavily tinted windows. Thoughts?

First, don't take this the wrong way because you've put in the work and the build looks great, with that said, is an Autotuba not able to give you enough bass in a car that you need to have such a huge box in the back like that? For me that just wouldn't be practical and I love bass. It looks like you could have fit two autotubas side by side in there and still had perfect view out the back. I'm dying to know how its going to sound in there tho I'm not gonna lie! haha

You know, I have been debating over that since I started on this forum. After reading Steve Regier's "Autotuba XLT" thread I made up my mind. Steve was getting around 125dB on the dash from a single TB-loaded TTLS, and his RTA showed good response to 10hz. I should be getting somewhere around 130dB because I have a dual loaded cab.

Now seeing the TT in the car I'm wondering if I should have built a quartet of ATs instead, like was suggested to me by Jasen Chandler. I guess I'll have to wait until I fire the TT up to make that conclusion.

Most of us hit that "holy crap" moment your in right now. Bill's designs are many things but as a whole small is not one of them. Small vs performance factor yes, but compared to the norm, no.

Just seeing the dimensions on the website, or pictures of it, doesn't do its size any justice. Like you (subharmonic) suggested earlier, a cardboard mock-up is, IMO, the only way to really get a feel for how big these things are.

I wired up the subs today, I wired them in parallel so once in the cab the total impedance will be around 3-4 ohms. This is how I wired them, did I do it correctly? Just double checking as I don't want fried amps or voice coils.

Might aswell move the + wire down to the bottom woofer so the + and - is connected similarly.. Might not make a big difference - but its always good getting things 100% correct

I wouldn't worry about thieves stealing it. They usually want something they can resell easily or something to use themselves. Neither of which that monster of a box is. They will steal your head unit or amp(s) before that box goes anywhere.

If you really want to hide it, you can hide that box in plain sight by taking pieces of cardboard and taping them to the outside of the box so it looks like a really big cardboard box. The top you can leave looking open and just put some junk on top like jumper cables/rags/school books etc. Noone will think twice.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Phaedras, I don't think it matters which one the positive is on as both drivers will receive the same voltage anyway, but it would have bugged me. I wired it the way you said, but it wasn't drawn in the diagram. The diagram I drew was just a representation to show how I basically wired it by connecting the two positives/negatives and only connecting the leads to one of the drivers, while that driver was connected to the other through a connecting wire.

This is a good point. I'm more worried about the drivers than the box, but they would have to take the entire box to take the drivers now wouldn't they? Good luck with that is all I'll say. I'm not as worried about the sub as I am about my car. If the car is damaged there is no insurance that covers damage not caused by me. (I only have liability insurance, the minimum to be legal- if I hit someone else my liability insurance pays for their damage, but none of mine) So if my car gets damaged and it's my fault I have to pay all on my own dime. Hence, I take great care of it and why I'm very concerned.
