I built a WH10 with a 2510 for a client as bass backline. Until the 2510 broke in, he was unsure. After it broke in, he's very happy with it now. Switchable tweeter banks, ported.AntonZ wrote: I'd like to hear WH10 for bass backline.

If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.

Congrats on the house. Does it have a garage? Not much closer to the northwest I'm afraid? No progress on the O10.5, haven't had time to look into it yet. Work, holidays with my family, family reunion in Canada, back to work. No idea when I'm going to be in Limburg again, but will let you know.thijs666 wrote:Hey Anton,
Maybe next year, after I've moved (yes, we bought a house) I will build a WH10
. If you're down south again, we can arrange a listen, I WILL have room for it then
(AND the rest of the system
). BTW, how's your Omni 10.5 doing? Any better on the lows?
Thanks for sharing the WH10 experience of your client, Leland. I still have another DL2510. Need more time.

Very good to know. I'd been considering a pair to use for key/bass and drum monitors, leaving my WH8's for vocals and guitars.LelandCrooks wrote:I built a WH10 with a 2510 for a client as bass backline. The problem comes when you ( being the bass player ) need a little more oomph and want to stack another WH10 on top of the other!gdougherty wrote:Very good to know. I don't get that........Harley wrote:The problem comes when you ( being the bass player ) need a little more oomph and want to stack another WH10 on top of the other!

Unless your talking about having a mix of bass and vocals infront of him.
Drumming is a way of life.

Some players prefer a tilt-back cab in back of them, which is easier to set up than to tilt back a standard rectangular cab.Scott Brochu wrote: I don't get that........Doesn't the bass player (usually) have an cab right behind him? .

I was being flippant Scott. You can easily stack 2 J110s or 2 O10.5s on top of each other, but stacking 2 angled WH10s on top of each other is another matterScott Brochu wrote:I don't get that........Harley wrote:The problem comes when you ( being the bass player ) need a little more oomph and want to stack another WH10 on top of the other!Doesn't the bass player (usually) have an cab right behind him?

Easy solution, get a roll of duct-tape and strap them to the bass player's head. Stereo monitoring with all the volume he can stand. Bass players tend to look pretty goofy anyway, so the look isn't a big deal.Harley wrote:I was being flippant Scott. all though I have seen some goofy steel guitar players.

I know there was a point to the stacking of the wedges.

If I can claim any instrument besides my voice, it's bass. It's all in good fun.Scott Brochu wrote:gdougherty wrote: Bass players tend to look pretty goofy anyway, so the look isn't a big deal.Them fight'n words bro

Most of 'em get more ass than a toilet seat...gdougherty wrote:Bass players tend to look pretty goofy anyway, so the look isn't a big deal.

Even the chick bassists just plain rock.
Chelsea (my daughter's bassist) set fire to a PA subwoofer last summer (literally).
The band slowed down and watched the flames for a minute, then took off again.
The operator admitted it was his fault, but it was fun to watch.
She's also blown out the Definimax 4018LF I built for her, and her Eden D410-XLT.
My biggest worry is that when I'm dead and gone, my wife will sell my toys for what I said I paid for them.

Funny that...the others leap around on stage, fling their drumming arms, fling the mike stands, girate, yada yada.... yet we bass players stay put with that goofy look for one reason...bgavin wrote:Most of 'em get more ass than a toilet seat...![]()

....apart from keeping the peace, keeping the engine room running tightly, acting as the drummer's roady and driving the drunk underscored guitarist and singer home

Have you ever watched "The Red/Green Show"? There are many ways shown on how to use said duct-tape. (available on YouTube)gdougherty wrote:Easy solution, get a roll of duct-tape and strap them to the bass player's head.

Who sets out to make the bass audible anyway, aren't they their just to instruct the drummer on what to do nextChris_Allen wrote:"You may fancy the Bass Player, but I make him sound good!"
