FWIW- Went by the hometown lumber yard today for some items and saw they had "1/2" luan" @$23. a sheet. Out of curiousity asked if I could see it- "sure, no problem." It was 6 ply aracuo, birch with a few knots on the B side, clear luan on the A side. It was very, very nice, no voids, not at all like the stuff I saw in Lowes. If I had known they had it I'm sure I would have used it for my cabs. So there ya' go...

Yes, and I've never understood why people want to go climb Mt. Everest. Well, kinda- it was fun trying to get to the top of Long's Peak in Colorado a few years back. Almost made it but then a storm started rolling in.
