Lots of money though and I'm not sure I will ever be able to afford that PA. The specs claim 140db from these cabs. They are a trap design like the EAW 35' x 35' with a separate midbass 15" box. How many DR's would we have to build to keep up with that kind of output.
Nexo Alpha system was used at many outdoor festivals including Glastonbury for years and when ground stacking its still the system of choice for a lot of people.

On the Nexo site the B15 horn loaded 15" component is 106dB nominal sensitivity with the recommended processor.

The M3 Mid High 2x10"+3" component is 110dB nominal sensitivity with the recommended processor.

Yep it sounds good but its bloomin expensive.

Did I read it right on the NEXO site that they have a geo-bracket for splaying their cabs :?: Oh-Oh

Splaying can work if the horizontal dispersion of the cabinet is tight enough and the cabinets are set up properly so that one does not interfere with the other.

However they may be talking about vertical splaying since the Geo is AFAIK, a line array!

Link? SPL chart? As for the max SPL, if it's a calculated figure, and I've never seen one that was not, it's complete fantasy. :roll:

Their charts are all with EQ correction, so comparison isn't possible.

Its going to be the way with a lot of commercial cabs.

Does anyone have a chart with EQ correction for a DR290?

That would be a +,- 1dB line from 80-15kHz.

Well then, easy comparison, what you have to trust is that the Nexo 0dB line is at their stated SPL level. Being NEXO, and seeing that they have posted all those polars as well as comprehensive SPL charts, one would assume it is so.

So with that in mind
B15 = 50-180Hz @ 106dB
M3 = 180-1kHz @ 106dB, 1kHz-18kHz @ 110dB

And the price for those 2 boxes and controllers??????

Well I found this link with secondhand gear inluding some of the other Alpha cabs, but its probably representative of an exorbitantly expensive system.

Never assume anything. When correction is applied system sensitivity is that of the lowest point of the uncorrected response. OTOH, when sensitivity is quoted it's at best an average figure, and very often a peak value.
