It's worth a try then, Duratex splatter is easy to clean up with a wet rag as long as it's still wet....
On the glue question, what do you think?

I looked all over for DAP Seal 'n' Peel, but none of the hardware stores around me carry it. I have been thinking about using DAP Dynaflex 230 as an alternative:chad wrote:I use DAP "Seal 'n' Peel" removeable silicone wheather stripping. I put it on the cab, then push the tweeter banks on it and pop some screws in to hold it together, works like a charm. As easy as regular caulk with the advantage that it peels right off. I have been using my cabs this way for almost 2 years with no ill effects.

It comes in colors, including black, and is latex based, so should not have the problems of silicone (same is true for Seal n Peel which has no silicone), even if the world's clubsiest builder gets some inside the speaker cavity. How does this look?
