It's worth a try then, Duratex splatter is easy to clean up with a wet rag as long as it's still wet....

On the glue question, what do you think?

I would not rely on hot melt alone to glue the piezo's together

I use ABS cement, and then once that has cured I hot melt along all of the joins internally to make sure the whole thing is sealed. I use the hot melt purely as a sealant.

chad wrote:I use DAP "Seal 'n' Peel" removeable silicone wheather stripping. I put it on the cab, then push the tweeter banks on it and pop some screws in to hold it together, works like a charm. As easy as regular caulk with the advantage that it peels right off. I have been using my cabs this way for almost 2 years with no ill effects. :D
I looked all over for DAP Seal 'n' Peel, but none of the hardware stores around me carry it. I have been thinking about using DAP Dynaflex 230 as an alternative:

It comes in colors, including black, and is latex based, so should not have the problems of silicone (same is true for Seal n Peel which has no silicone), even if the world's clubsiest builder gets some inside the speaker cavity. How does this look?

I used black Dyanflex 230 to seal around the connection panel and handle hardware on my wedgehorns. Seems to have worked quite well.

That's great, thanks! I have used it on my house...I like it there. Nice to know it is good for something more important ;-)
