Like Bruce said, check out Cutlist. You might find the 5x5 panel works better.

Finally got started on the build- first 2 panels in and learned a few things.
1. Even with wax paper, PL adhesive squeezes out all over the place. Ruined two 90 degrees jigs removing them. Next pair will get some car wax on the sides to see if that helps with release.
2. Pay attention to the build sheet and trust it... I've read it 7-8 times now before starting and last night I cut the blocks for the baffles and glued them up, went to bed. 2 hours later woke in a panic and ran to the shop pulled the blocks back off because I thought I put them on the wrong side. Got 4 off and then went "wait what?" crap, they were right in the first place.... New baffle board on the list for tonight.

One question about wiring the woofer- its the Dayton LS10-44, dual voice coil. Should I wire it in series or parallel? Seems series if the way to go but not sure.

Series for an 8 ohm load, parallel for 2 ohms. As for the PL ooze use half what you think you should.

No need for wax paper. Cut the corner off the 90 degree jig so that it doesn't get into the corner.

Like this....if you zoom in, you can see the cut on the corner.

I stopped using wax paper a couple builds ago, in favor of regular blue painters tape. PL doesn't stick to it and it's way easier to apply where you want it.

I like the larger clamps- may need to make some of those up- mine are the ones suggested in the plans.

Same for the tape, great idea.

Series it is, I don't think most amps want a 2 ohm load...

Build done late last night- Still need to finish the sides. my old plate amp is blown so I need a new one and am looking at this: https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Au ... quantity=1

so- its a big box, and I am hoping to use it as the electronics stand receiver and cd player, no vinyl - yet.

1. Bad idea?
2. If I place it middle of wall (12' wide), how much loading will I lose?
3. I could place it to a side, a foot from the corner, but then I'm going to have an issue with speaker spacing. (klipsch heresy)

Thoughts?

Unless the room is gigantic middle of the room doesn't loose enough loading to be a major concern. What matters is the response at the listening position, which can vary a lot depending on placement. So where do you put it? Where it works best, which can only be determined by measuring the response at the listening position with REW or the like.

Update. Not light so we did testing in the shop (30x30) powered up using a QSC GX5 amp.

Uh.... wow.

The output was palpable, really enjoyed it, no internal rattles and it is tight tight tight.

Still need to figure out a finish, did odies oil on one side and it is nice. May do that.

Next step is the plate amp, go a dayton 250W w DSP and Para EQ I'll build a box for and mount outboard of the box.

VERY impressive- thank you Bill.

6 ish month update. Got the sub in the house, 250 WPC dayton plate amp, main amp is a Cambridge audio receiver, (100WPC class D- yea yea I know), feeding a pair of heresy 1.5 mains.

Still blown away- there is an old Telarc CD called Time Warp and its a great checkout disc, that will tax most any system. hah... the system laughed and I just about cried... all the clarity and volume from the heresy and the visceral kick from that sub is just what I wanted. magnificent ! Thanks again Bill.
