Inhaling through my teeth... I can only think of non traditional "creative" solutions for that situation. Are you leaning toward creative solutions or are you more likely to just replace the driver?

Got a GRS 8SW-4HE in my Parts Express cart right now. Harmon Kardon said they don't have a re-cone kit (not suprised). They asked for pics and serial number, so maybe they can rebuild it. Waiting for that verdict before I buy anything. I have a 18" JBL 2242HPL in the closet behind me that keeps whispering my name.
