Nice.
Probably has two rectangular holes in it. That's used with drivers other than the Lab12....or any driver with FS above 35hz. I can't tell what driver that is, but it doesn't look like a Lab 12.
Gotcha, I've never put anything other than a Lab12 in a sub so I wasn't aware of any differences in the plans!Bruce Weldy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 9:35 am Probably has two rectangular holes in it. I saw that hole in the pic too.....after you posted, I went and looked at the plans. Not sure why people want to use the Lab when the 3012LF is so much lighter and the same price....and the output is essentially the same. Just like to get in some extra weightlifting?88h88 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 12:26 pmGotcha, I've never put anything other than a Lab12 in a sub so I wasn't aware of any differences in the plans!Bruce Weldy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 9:35 am Probably has two rectangular holes in it. I thought the Lab had about 5dB more sensitivity at the high pass freq. If true, seems worth the extra weight for someone that plans to use it that low regularly. If untrue... hey look, it's the Goodyear BlimpBruce Weldy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 7:05 pm Not sure why people want to use the Lab when the 3012LF is so much lighter and the same price....and the output is essentially the same.
Somewhere, IIRC, Bill says the T30 and the T45 response are essentially identical, and it's the design that dictates response, not the driver.SethRocksYou wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 12:08 amI thought the Lab had about 5dB more sensitivity at the high pass freq. 3012lf Vd = 496 ccGrant Bunter wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 1:59 am Because of it's impedance, the lab12 wins by 1 maybe 2 dB in output.
3012lf is king...
When I bought the Lab12s back in 2011 the 3012s were at least another 50% on top in the UK. Now both are the same money here (give or take like £3) so it doesn't make real sense to buy the heavier Lab.Bruce Weldy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 7:05 pm I saw that hole in the pic too.....after you posted, I went and looked at the plans.
