To save a little more time on cutting the baffle, you could have the CNC cut out the center and make one pass around the outside to mark your "line" then cut the outside diameter on the table saw. It may be less satisfying, but probably much quicker.

Thanks! And nope, never. Heck, most of the time I don't even think in three dimensions. Probably couldn't have done it without the Interwebs.

Funny you should mention a 3D printer. The two things I'm dying to do to her is to not only make her a 3D printer, but also a laser engraver! Not the kind that cuts steel mind you, but I wouldn't mind cutting some wood. That does get expensive however, you can sink some real money in powerful laser heads.

This may very well be a prototype of sorts. I really do want to shape steel as well, automated of course..

Now , if I can just find that mill/lathe combo on the cheep that I've had my eye on, I might be able to get started on a DIY CNC plasma cutter.

Thanks, and nope, she really is tight as a drum. In fact a bit too tight in the last few mm of each of those axis. Nothing that hampers the operation really. but I am already thinking of a mod to hard rubber V wheels as an alternative to the bearing rollers. That might increase the workable space by a couple of inches in each direction.

I'd make a dust shoe and vacuum system before you do that. My buddy rigged a harbour freight dust collector and homemade dust shoe to his and now you can do open heart surgury next to it. Helped quiet it down too if you can believe that.
