Thx. So the wider is more efficient. I think 40hz should be fine. For space I was building slims.

If you want 40hz from just two cabs, you are building the wrong sub. T39s should be high passed at 45 when using less than 4. If you try to take 'em lower, you'd better dial back the power. If you want lower and with more power, build T48s.

45 is fine. Also did you end up getting the Dcx? If so how do you find the sound quality?

Thx

I use driveracks for my processing. The quality of the T39s is great. Never lost a driver with over 7 years of use.....but, I always am careful and don't try to wring out every last decibel or go too low.

Nice, do you have the PA or the 260?

I have all the originals......PA, PA+, PX.

If you are running a two way system - Tops and subs, any of the above work fine. If three way, the PA or PA+.

If you want all the bells and whistles - wireless control, etc.....then you have to go with the newer models.

Hey Bruce,

How about the XLS 2500. 775w at 4ohms.

Don't I need 760w at 4 ohms for two t39s?

55v at 4ohms.

Just checking as I might be able to snag one. Maybe to close to run 4 t39s though.

I also got the Driverack 260 now. Guy threw in a cheap laptop with the GUI on it.

Thx
Tony

Tony, the Voltage limit on 3012LF and Lab12 loaded T39s is 50V, at any impedance. We talk in Volts AC on here, because that's what matters. VAC is measurable, and is a constant. Watts are a theoretical calculation of Voltage squared divided by Impedance.

The DriveRack 260 is a HUGE score! If you don't have one, download the operator manual and get familiar with it, intimately.

Thx,

Ya the Driverack 260 was so good of I deal I drove 100 miles to get it.

I'm sorry I thought it was 55v which means the 2500 will probably be ok with 4 of them.

Another score I'm trying to get.

I only related the watts to figure out the amp requirements.

It's cool! 8)

Score on, my brother, score on!
I think the XLS 2500 would be just fine for 2 T39s, in parallel, on each channel.

Yes that's what I was hoping. That would complete the rig. 4 dr250s/2510s on the xls1500 and 4 t39s/lab12s on the xls2500 all controlled by the Driverack 260.

Thx
Tony

You want to know the best part about this rig you G.A.S.? It will ALL run from a single, 15 Amp plug, and get STOOPID loud!     8)

That is great news as I wanted to setup a cruise performance this year. Would I need a power distribution unit or conditioner to protect/condition the system?

The guy with the XLS 2500 is not responding :horse: .

Anyway I will look around. I really don't want to use my drummers EP4000 but if I have to I will. Oh and I already have the manual for the driverack 260. Read it start to finish. Will do it again so it is second nature. The guy told me to pick up a Behringer measurement mic. He said it worked well for him.

Thx.

Sorry, been out of town all weekend......I have some 2500s, but I just don't think they have enough headroom before starting to overload the input. That's what happened when I tried 'em. But, they can work, just probably need to stick with the lower voltage of 50V.

I run mine hotter - the original plans called for 60 volts to limit the 3012LF, but Bill has brought it down some for safety.. I run 'em around 55 or so, but I also high pass at 47-50hz and don't beat the crap out them. If the limiter is kicking in, then it's too loud - turn it down.

Thx Bruce and DjPhatman,

I think I'll go with it and limit at 50v. However I do want to high pass at 40hz (the only reason I'm building 4). I want the drum and bass to rumble/beat people's chests. It sounds like I won't need to get near 50v anyway.
