Loosen the depth adjustment knob on your circular saw. You should now be able to place the shoe flat on your sled by lifting up the body of the saw so the blade clears the wood. Start the saw, then slowly lower the saw all the way, then move forward until the end of the cut.

Either way you will probably have to hold up the blade guard with your hand.

Using a sled is key, with the sled screwed to the board on the cutline. Freehand you won't get a straight cut.

I tried this last night. Rather than loosen the height adjustment I pivoted the whole saw as the video shows. I carefully screwed my sled to the work for all 4 sides. It went well with straight cuts all the way around. I went 1 inch too long in one direction on the first cut however. Rather than start over I filled that slot with PL.

PL is magical stuff. I figure my DR's in my signature are a good 20% PL, 20% Bondo, 60% ply

The 2nd side doesn't fit all that well with 1/8" gap on at least one panel. I wasn't precise enough about measuring them apparently. What do you guys recommend for trimming the panel edges for a tighter fit? Some kind of planer tool? Some kind of rasp? Rough sand paper with a disk on my power drill?

Thick bead of PL on the joint. Screw it and let it dry. It will fill that void.

I would first use a straight edge across the outside edges to see how well things line up. If there is only one panel too short,then I would cut a sliver to fit the gap on top of the panel.

You guys are great! Help replies within minutes. I got some speaker carpeting and spray glue from PartsExpress. Maybe I'll be testing this puppy this weekend!

I DID get to some testing tonight after trimming the PL squeeze out. I feel confident that I got a tight enough fit on the final side with PL filling in the gaps. Nonetheless, I'll be listening for leaks with a length of hose as instructed shortly. Tonight though I ran some test tones out of the laptop just to hear'em then hooked up the same opening Anthony Jackson tune from Interspirit. Woah! This baby may be little sis to my big THTLP but there's nothing little about the sound. She's punchy, tuneful, and powerful. Can't wait to hear her in my coupe!
