Also worth noting to any future builders of this design, the low profile variant allows you to build the 36 inch wide version but still fit it within any door whereas the normal (non low profile version) may not fit in all doors at 36 inches in the narrowest dimension.

Plus it uses less floor area...

(Although it will probably take three people to carry it!)

I was already considering building a pair of 19" wide THTLP for my truck.
The only issue I had was keeping enough space at the mouth end for the horn to breathe.
But now, with the advent of the side-firing THTLP, my dilemma is solved.

Reconsider. There's no reason to have the low frequency response of THT in a truck, assuming you're not watching DVDs. AT or Truck Tuba go as low as any music content requires, TT as loud as any sane person can stand.

But seriously, I regularly listen to music that dips to the mid-20's in the basslines.
The two TTLS are great! I just want more. This truck is my toy anyway; no reason not to go big. Life is short!

I'd have to see charts to prove it. Not that I'd want to listen to anything that goes that low anyway, other than movie sound effects.

I've heard songs on the radio that my AT couldn't quite reach with same authority as higher up the range. Once it hits 40 hz. and up, LOOK OUT!

Also, I ran some 0 to 35/35 to 0 Hz sweeps at max voltage, my sofas and coffee table tables actually moved from their initial locations. THT LP played loud and clear around 35 to 40 volts, fantastic.

Nice build. Looks like the perfect size for a TV to sit on it. Is there some reason you went with the T-nuts for the driver baffle rather than the screws called for in the plans on pages 8 and 9? I'm about to start a THTLP build myself and wonder if the T-nut method would be more secure especially since the instructions call for installing and reinstalling the driver to the baffle more than once to check for surround slap.

I've done it both ways, never going back to T-nuts.

that's great. The voice of experience! Care to explain why? Advantages/disadvantages when it comes to ease of installation? Does the non-Tnut method have a tendency to strip the screws in the wood with repeated installations? If not, why not?

I just noted that the older plans for the THTLP do call for T-nuts. Why the change?
