I doubt you'll find anyone running 10 gauge on this forum. Every cable I have is 12ga....regardless of length. 12ga. is fine to 50 feet. But, I can't remember the last time I had to go that far in a setup.

If you are running shows big enough where you need to get over 50 feet, you should have an amp rack for each side of the stage anyway.

If you were running two amp racks how would you share a common ground to reduce ground loop hum? (Not to derail the thread.)

You won't have ground loop issues using only balanced connections.

It's not necessary. My FOH goes through 100' of 12/8 followed by short jumpers of 12/4. I calculated insertion loss to be 1-2db with that combination, which is fine. I've got NL8 couplers to go out to 200' if I need to, which we do at least once a year. Never had any issues.

NL4 connectors are optimized for #12 wire. If you want to use #10 (which really isn't "necessary" until you get the 200 foot length) you'll have to clip some of the wire to get it in the connector. Stick with #14 for less than 50 foot lenghts, #12 out to 100 ft. You can buy perfectly good rubber jacketed wire from Amazon for relatively cheap and make your own. That link isn't the only product out there, but I've used it and it works well.

The link is so long that it gets abbreviated with "****" , literally, in the middle. If anyone with access to the unedited link cared to they could make a shorturl for it.
