Sorry for the delays in progress, been catching up on work and visiting people in the city. Today's been my first day in a while that I've been able to relax and get some more of these cabs built!

Started off today by creating a new right angle jig.. my last one and the top sheet of laminate became partly torn after I stupidly left on my jig with my fast dry PU glue.. picture of the damage is in the imgur album. I glued the first panel of each bin onto the side, and realized that i should do all of my angle cuts before I move any further. And that's exactly what I did. I cut 75% of all the pieces until it started getting too cold in the workshop to do anymore. Hoping to finish them all off tomorrow. (was a breeze with the table saw, very thankful i have it!)

As always I have a few pictures for you. I'm off to London Thursday so it might be a week before the next update.

Back from London and recovered.. for the most part. If anyone happened by The Steelyard last weekend for D-nox and Beckers, or by Parov stelar in Alexandra Palace, then I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! As soon as I had free time I was back to work. Today I installed both of my panel 2's. I was hoping to see a load more of my build completed but I forgot about the hole for the driver in each of my panel 3, and my spacers themselves. They took the brunt of the work to get done today. And hopefully (I don't currently have an amp to test them with) they don't hit the rim of the holes. It doesn't seem like it could be possible with the stretch of the rubber but I could be wrong. Luckily I've secured a PKN XD2500, which I'm so so so eager to get my hands on, but that'll be a couple weeks away at the least.

I wish my photo's weren't too big to upload directly to the site but I'll have to make do. As you hopefully can see, there's a gasket that came with the LAB12s.. should I include that in my build or should I leave it off?

Tomorrow I'll hopefully get a good portion of my assembly done. All the rest of my pieces are cut to finished angles (asides from my braces, which since my cabs are 24" wide I'm fairly certain I'll need 2 of each) Bill says that the 3/5 brace is only used for the dual driver cabinets, but since my cabs are so wide is there a chance that I'd put one in too?

Thanks guys!

Cut the 3/5 brace only if this is a two driver cab. Panel 3/5 brace is not used with a single driver cab.

You can edit your photo's in Microsoft Paint (and many other photo editors) and resize them by a percentage until they're under 200kB, then you can upload 'em..

Thanks for the advice. At last I have pictures in my thread!

Got some serious amount of work done today, panels 1- 6 are all installed as well as my 5/6 bracers. Hoping the get the remaining bulk of the work done tomorrow.. Thinking about making some handles in 7 and 9 since i'll be lugging these around quite a bit.. Seeing it all together like this is such an amazing feeling!

Must remember to tidy up all the PU that's come out the sides of each joint!

And the mistake i was waiting for has finally been made.. It seems that when i was cutting all my angle pieces two weeks ago i cut the wrong side of my panel 8s..absolutely fuming! Not sure if there's anything i can do to remedy it or if im just better off buying more birch ply to compensate. Can always use my now defunct panel 8s as materials for the otops i plan on building soon

Disappointed.

+1 to handles. Except make them between 7/8 and 8/10 ;)

Coming together nicely. Shame about your little boo boo but now it's problem solving time!

I had enough wood to make a new panel 8..went to go cut it and cut the wrong side to 23".. Maybe its time to leave it for the day :chainsaw:

Yup. 1 or 2 minor mistakes carry on. A major mistake late in the day? Time to go home.

For future reference, the way i learned to avoid that is i take a black marker and draw dashes like these (- - - - - - - - ) along the widths of my panels on both edges so i know not to ever cut with the lines but across them and i never made the mistake of cutting a panel the wrong way again.

Nice looking amp. Where did you get it from and how much did you pay for it if you don't mind my asking?

Well the time has come, got off school early today and figured I'd make a bash at getting some more of the cabinets done. I shouldn't have though, because I've made a mistake.

the pictures are of panel 8 on one of the cabinets. Due to my lack of foresight, what was square at one side of the panel was not square on the other, and before i knew it my 5 minute PU glue had set and i was up shit creek. Panel 8 is now not at 90 degrees where it joins to panel 7, and at the top of the joint the difference between where panel 8 connects to panel 7 to the unfinished edge of panel 7 is ~2mm and on the bottom where it joins panel seven there's 9-10mm of clearance, which is what is supposed to be there. What im trying to say should be far more evident in the pictures. So my question to you guys is.. have I thrown putting the "lid" on the cabinet completely out of kilter, or is it possible to rescue it?

Absolutely gutted.

Edit: the ridiculous amount of PU was intentional. Don't worry!

Only good news is that I finally got my PKN. In love with it.

Anyone have any ideas what I should do with my askew install? Really not sure how i should progress and the advice would be appreciated.
