Gasketting the handles and jack plate with adhesive foam strip

As discussed in a separate thread, the pocket handles I chose were very flimsy, especially as the cabinet was very heavy due to my poor choice of plywood.
I therefore knocked up a couple of wedges to "buttress" the handle pockets against the (fortuitously positioned) corner vents.
These were installed, and I also drizzled the runny glue into the channels, to further firm up the mounting.
The result is quite ugly, but very effective: the handles feel solid, with no flexing or stressing.

At long last the drivers arrived, and to my great relief they fitted perfectly (risk #1 was my relying on the Eminence website for cutout diameter, risk #2 was my ill-advised grille standoff).
My son and I performed an inaugural sound test straight away (with a TC Electronics BH250), and were very impressed with the performance.
Then I fitted the grille and corners to finish the project.

Apart from the weight, I am very pleased with the end result. It might be butt-ugly on the inside, but no one (apart from esteemed denizens of this website) will ever get to see it! It sounds good (loud, no rattles), looks good and is pretty robust.
What would I do differently, if there is a next time?

• Use lighter plywood
• Use thicker glue
• Come up with a simpler grille assembly and mounting system
• The red grille is a little brighter than I'd imagined, perhaps next time I would paint the baffle red, and have the grille black.

Yes, very nice build - I agree with the red grille. When I first saw the picture of you spraying it, I thought it was going to look great but it hasn't quite turned out like that.

Does the grille flex at all? I would be tempted to put mounting blocks in the middle of the baffle to add some strength.

The handles are rock solid.
The grille is actually touching the drivers' front gaskets so all in all there is very little scope for movement. (I'm pretty sure there's plenty of cone clearance with respect to the 2510's xmax... )
I said there's no rattles, but in fact if you play the G string up near the 12th fret there is a tiny bit of buzz - I think it's the aluminium edging (the grill is sandwiched, front & back). No biggie, but I can take it out, dissemble it and tape the edges if I need to.
