4th axis is the way to go. however this SIGNIFICANTLY increases the cost of the machine.

Usually because this is very, very expensive to do on a DIY machine.

not worth it to do angles. Bits would get expensive quick, and tool changes on diy cnc's is all manual, you'd have to set height on each bit.

profiling takes time, and the finish resolution would depend on stepover and ballmill dia. It'd be quicker to go and buy a tablesaw, set it up and cut.


I get to play with Mazak's at work, now that's some quick cnc's.
