Then build them either 20" or 30" wide to maximize 60"X60" plywood usage, or 24" wide to maximize 48"X96" plywood. Get the most SPL out of them as you can. Best bang-for-buck. MHO & YMMV.

I have a pair at 20" and a pair at 28", that's why I was thinking of building a minimum width set. More options at setup.

Not that much difference between a 20" and a 16" (minimum width) wide T39:
Much larger difference when you step up:
Use 1 or 2 20" wide for the little gigs, and add from there. Are the 20" too much for you now? I just don't see the logic in adding 16" wide cabs to the pile. Please help me understand your thought process as I am very curious now.

I was just thinking that adding one more pair of cabs would net me a bit more volume from the subs for outdoor shows. My 4 tops outrun my 4 subs a bit, especially outside. I was going to build the additional pair at 16" just to save a bit of space in the trailer and to have some tiny ones if I wanted them. Am I missing something?
Oh, and sorry OP for the hijack...
