How much does a ticket cost for one of these raves....? How much are the drugs....?

I agree these could have been donated, but the event organiser buys some stuff, sells tickets, makes mega money the stuff gets seized but a huge profit has been made.

Bit like some video i've seen of a Porsche driven into a crusher, then put in a modern art gallery..... Comments all called him a fucker for doing that, and said they would have had the car. Buy it for 50,000 crush it and sell it for 250,000....?
I plan to build a couple of DR250's & Autotuba.
WARNING - LAB12 T39's are EXCELLENT

This stuff gets seized mostly at free parties where most of times the organisers may make very little money of drinks and possibly donations but are usually organised because of genuine love for their music.

Most soundsystems take a group of likeminded people and years to build up. Very little of them start with the intention of being a comercial enterprise.

Yeah.. Have run many a free party and usually the cost is easily over £100
At every party something gets broken or lost... At the last one I did it was the light stand (=£30 min)
My best party (cost wise) I only lost £20, which was a total result. Most expensive was £600, thanks to issues with the van. This is all done as bas says 'for a love of the music'. So having the police do something like this breaks my heart and achieves nothing positive... I am sure that another local rig would have organised a fundraiser at a club and made a decent chunk back, so they would have been back up and parting as soon as the PL had dried!! Is all the police would have earned from this is further alienation from the people they are supposed to protect and serve!!
Oh... And for the record... 2 parties this week thanks to this heatwave we are having here in the UK... £150 down... 100% worth it

Police say that these "Raves" destroy land, leave lots of litter, do not have proper security provisions so crime is high with assaults and pickpockets, encourages drink drive, and the use of illegal drug.

So I asked one of Devon & Cornwall police big guns, how would I "legalise" a rave, and I was told that the first step would be to apply for a licence from the council to play music in a public space, have an alcohol licence (even required for a mobile bar), have permission from a land owner, hire SIA licences security and a whole bunch of other stuff, and with the council the way they are, whats the chance of them saying "yes, we will help" - too much effort.

I can probably get away with it under the charity who has licences for outside entertainment.......!

Well, all the above excluding the assaults are usually true.

If you want to go on organizing free parties you might want to check http://www.squatjuice.com. There should be plenty of people that can give you tips about obtaining licences and getting by without them.

Regardless of the actual story - this is still upsetting to see.

Upsetting, maybe. In this country, illegal, being a complete violation of due process. Seizure and even eventual destruction of the seized property can happen, but not until one has had their day in court. This is the stuff over which we fought to gain our independence in 1775-1783, and re-assert our sovereignty 1812-1815. If that happened here the lawyers would be fighting each other in line to represent the defendants.

Further... this is typically only true of illegal substances, or weapons used in a violent crime (at least for destruction, anyway).

Seizure of personal property usually results in the sale of that property to generate revenue for some purpose.

Even though I'm not a raver (or anything close, for that matter) this is just asinine.

It just goes to show how robust Bill's designs are.
It takes two dicks with sledge hammers several blows to even make a hole in the cab.
I like the way the sledge bounces off of the cab several times.
I hope they ended up with splinters in there crotches.
Built

+1 Was just thinking that. If anything, presents an excellent case in favor of 1/2" ply and good bracing for those ever in doubt. :?

Has anyone emailed Norfolk Constabulary for some explanation of the scenes we are viewing? It's reminiscent of the riots we had last year.

It's reminiscent of the plots of 'Rock Around The Clock' and 'Footloose'. Or maybe 'Reefer Madness'?
