depends how far you are splitting your stacks by. if it aint about 55 feet with t39s... then yeah. even like that. check out the thread djp posted before asking though...

Yeah Im familiar with the placement thread. And yup indoors Id definitely go with one of those options. The 2 T39's and OT top's will be deployed like the pic I posted for outdoor use, no wall etc. I think you guys call it FOH, front of house. er well not really in my case it will be front of bar, FOB in car park or football field, cricket pitch etc. If outdoors and a wall is available Id also definitely go with a placement suggestion. So if Im correct the V plate outdoors (with no boundary reinforcement) is the best option for the bass cabs. I thought maybe he was referring to the cables or something else.

Unless I'm misunderstanding - that's all the speakers he has and he sometimes does a mono-block like the picture.....which is certainly just fine.

I don't know that I would permanently mount an AC panel meter on my console. It really wouldn't serve any purpose aside from setting the limiters, in which it would make more sense to install it in the power amp rack. For monitoring audio levels, it won't react fast enough with program material, and if your limiters are working properly, who really cares what the output voltage of the amp is during regular use?

Well I do see your point, however I just thought being able to check the voltage at a glance would be nice, sample rate is 3 times per second so we will see how it displays, because this is new to be id like to monitor as many parameters as possible until I'm confident nothing can go wrong. Plus when I get my test equipment id like to see the relationship between SPL and voltage.

The digital meter won't react fast enough to provide any meaningful info with program material. This is why analog VU meters with specific ballistics in the meter movement are used, as well as reading in decibels rather than volts.

If you calibrate 0dB on the console VU meter for 50V, or whatever you set your LF limiter to, this will provide a better overall view of how hard you're working the sound system.

Byacey, what is Program material? On another note I wonder if the Digital Multi Volt Meter is the cause of some ppl getting 52v when measuring a 50hz sine wave vs 38v playing music, is it the meter not reading fast enough?

Program material is changing audio, music, speech, pink noise, etc. versus a single frequency sine wave as used to set the limiter thresholds. Those AC panel meters are typically meant for measuring a steady, usually 50 or 60 cycle, sine wave voltage. It will hunt all over the place like a fart in a windstorm when trying to measure an ever changing audio signal. If you just want random flashing numbers, this will certainly provide that, but I doubt you will find any meaning in the displayed numbers.

However, an analog VU meter, or a well designed digital bar graph meter with ballistics will display the average AC RMS levels expressed in dB instead of volts.
