With a 2512 driver, you can get two kits from Leland for about $450, duratex is another $55, shipping, tax, etc.........I'd figure $550 plus plywood for a pair. Depending on the price of your ply, you should come in around $650-700. Way better than you can buy for that price.

You can't mix and match Otops and DR's.

Build the DR's lol, go on, get to it!

Not to mention size either. A pair of Otops is way smaller than a single JBL...a pair of DR250 is about the same as a single JBL. DR200 is another good consideration Cheapest option of all.

Man, every post makes it harder to make a choice would a pair of DR200 be a good competition to a pair of the JBL. and would I be able to combine the DR200 and the 250s for future plans?

Haha, that's the fun of it! Decisions! Anyway, whether you are thinking about tops, or about subs, pick one style of each and stay with it. Mixing different style tops, or different style subs is asking for trouble because the different styles don't play nice together. This shows how the DR250 compares to the DR200 as well as other makes of cabs, whereas this shows how the DR200 compares to other makes of cabs. The only down side for the DR200 is that you should always use subs, unless it is for acoustic guitar and/or vocals only.But, it's still an excellent cab!

Ok so I have ordered the plans for full range wedgehorns and the DR250.

WOuld I be safe if I build the cabs im looking for and ordering the electronic parts after im done with the wood work?

Get the drivers before you start building, jacks, corners, etc. Xover can wait. But you want to have the stuff on hand for dry fitting mainly

I would recommend that you go to Speakerhardware and order the kits. It makes things really simple, forum member Leland Crooks owns it, and all the parts are right. Granted, it's an expensive jump if your short but if you go by the motto "Buy once, cry once", .......

I wouldn't. You need the drivers to build the baffles correctly and since that is an early part of every cabinet - it's best to have it all there when you start.

at least order ONE kit of each. so you can have a driver as template.
