Lets work backwards from where we are at that might be a better way to look at this. What are your overall requirements from the modified cabs? Other than not shredding drivers.
What frequency response are you looking to get out of your fixed subs?
What are the max SPL requirements you are looking for?
And when you get to them.
Overall cab measurements?
Overall port measurements?
What processing equipment do you have covering your subs?
What is the total RMS power to the 4 drivers?
We should have no problem coming up with something better than what you have now based on these questions.

Recommendation: buy a limiter/processor. Cheaper than buying new drivers and helps prevent the problem. Other than that, I would say toss it for a BFM system but for some people that's not an option.

What I use and have been recommended towards by forum members: Behringer DCX 2496.
