Perfect. And maybe frequency bandwidth, coverage, etc. as needed.

Instead of SPL maybe just how many people are in attendence and do you want.the whole crowd covered with LOUD or just a dancefloor etc. Kinda like weddings usually dont need 11 on the loudness.

This is all great fella's, thanks!
Please remember though, you're talking to one already converted lol.
It's very simple to say "this is a xxxxW system". It tells the people that only want to know that, what they want to hear. In a format they think they understand.
When they then ask about the funny looking cabs and "what's with all those piezo's and how did you get them like that" and so on that opportunities to discuss my system will naturally arise.
Sadly in depth explanations and leading questions will not always get me the gig...

That's why I put on grills.....it easier for 'em to hear the magic with their ears than to discount it with their eyes.

I agree, that will be done in the goodness of time as well.
When I work out how to make them removable and allow access to the module on the DR's lol.

I tell people the maximum bridge wattage of my amps, which happens to be 3000W. I only use 450W in 8 ohm 2 channel mode, but they don't need to know any of that.

Good one Stan
Timp: Totally meaningless here, we don't have 20 amp circuits...

That's the caveat. If you use anything other than a 15A circuit, expect nothing more than a weak, distorted sound reproduction, but your vision will be 20/20.

My serious comment was made in an earlier post, and I thought we were done beating this topic to death. A little levity is good for the soul.

Sorry, I'm often concerned that perhaps a glib remark might be taken the wrong way.
I suppose the target customer will make a significant difference regarding the amount of marketing required.
If you're trying to break into the pro touring scene, it would be a long, arduous, uphill battle trying to compete with the rental companies using big commercial name brand gear. Usually the riders specify what gear is acceptable ( no matter how ridiculous), and if it ain't on the list, you ain't got a chance unless you're a superb vacuum cleaner type salesman.
Local small time promoters will often have venues that you can work your systems in, where the performers don't care about brand names, as long as the sound quality is good, and they like what they hear. That will sell more jobs in this market than anything else.
Another possibility is to hook up with a new and upcoming band that hasn't yet been poisoned by the touring market. If they get great sound production for a reasonable cost, they'll hopefully keep you busy.

It's just as meaningful as quoting the manufacturers amp power ratings without all the necessary impedance load values, efficiency, line sag, etc.
+1 - that's what I was going to write as I read through this thread, until I came to your post and you had already written it
Just say it does 130dB (or whatever - most won't know what 130dB sounds like anyway) and be done with it - most people know (or have at least heard of) dBs. I am also loving the "it doesn't run on watts, it runs on volts" approach!. Whatever you use, just make sure they get a demo... that's the hook!
